Kerala B.Sc Nursing Admission 2022: The Government of Kerala has outlined the various admission parameters that students need to follow in order to pursue an undergraduate nursing course from the best nursing colleges in Kerala. LBS Center for Science and Technology (LBSCST) handles the admission into B.Sc Nursing and other paramedical courses. Every year the DME (Directorate of Medical Education) releases a notification related to admission into B.Sc nursing. In 2022 B.Sc admission notification is expected to be released in the month of August.
As per the Kerala Government, admissions to the B.Sc Nursing in the govt nursing colleges of Kerala will be based on merit, instead of an entrance exam. Kerala B.Sc Nursing Eligibility Criteria 2022
To get admission into B.Sc Nursing aspirants need to fulfil the eligibility criteria 2022. Here is the details about the B.Sc Nursing eligibility criteria outlined by the LBS Center for Science and Technology;
Aspirants need to have cleared their class 12 board exam in the stream of science from the Kerala State Board of Education or any equivalent board, approved by the Kerala University of Health Science.
They will have to ensure that they have secured 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English.
The admission process will only be applicable to students with India as their native country. Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) and Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) card-holders will also be eligible, however, they will not be eligible for any reservation and will be treated at par with Indian students.
The Kerala Govt further states that there will be three categories of candidates, who will be eligible for the admission process, viz. Keralite, Non-Keralite Category-1 (NK-1) and Non-Keralite Category 2 (NK-2).
Reserved Category Candidates will be offered 5% relaxation in terms of the minimum aggregate scores required. Meanwhile, SC/ST candidates will be eligible for admission if they have cleared all subjects under the qualifying examinations.
All candidates must also ensure that they are 17 years of age as of 31st December 2020. There is no upper limit for Kerala B.Sc Nursing admissions in 2022, except for in-service candidates.
The upper limit for In-service candidates is 46 years as of 31st December 2020.
Kerala B.Sc Nursing Candidate Category Definitions
Here are the definitions of the different Kerala B.Sc Nursing Candidate categories, as outlined by the LBS Centre for Science and Technology.
Keralite Category:
A Candidate will be considered under the Keralite category if their origins are from Kerala. Offsprings of All India Services officers (AIS), who are of Non-Kerala origins will also be considered under this category. However, these students are not eligible for any kind of reservations, like Communal, Special or Persons with Disabilities.
Non-Keralite Category 1 (NK-1):
Candidates who have completed a qualifying course in Kerala and are the children of Non-Keralite parents, but are employed under the ambit of the Government of India or Defence Services in Kerala, are eligible.
Children of Non-Keralite parents who have served or are serving the Government of Kerala for a minimum period of 2 years are eligible.
Candidates who have been permanent residents of Kerala for a period of 5 years during the duration of their education/study in the state are also eligible.
Candidates who have completed their education in classes 8 to 12 from one of the schools in Kerala are eligible for the admission process as well.
It is important to note that the candidates who fall under this category will be considered under the State Merit List, however, they will not be eligible for the Communal, Special or PwD reservation quotas and/or fee concessions.
Non-Keralite Category 2 (NK-2):
Candidates who do not fall under either of the above-mentioned categories will fall under this category. These candidates are eligible for the admission process, however, they are not liable to receive admissions under any kind of reservation or be offered fee concessions.
These candidates may be eligible for management quota seats at Private Self Financing Colleges in the state, considering they meet the requisite academic eligibility criteria.
Kerala B.Sc Nursing Application Process 2022
Aspirants who qualify the necessary eligibility criteria, as specified by the LBS Centre for Science and Technology, will be able to complete the Kerala B.Sc Nursing Application Process 2022. As per the admission guidelines, the applications to the course will be completed in Online Mode alone. Here are the steps you need to follow in order to complete the application process for Kerala B.Sc Nursing Admissions 2022.
The first step in the application process requires candidates to register themselves with the LBS Centre for Science and Technology.
Candidates will be required to register themselves as “New Candidates” and enter the necessary details.
Candidates should ensure that they have entered correct and complete details, as any false information or incorrect application forms, may negatively affect the admission process for the candidate.
After entering the necessary details, must save the application form and continue on with the next step of the application process which includes payment of the application fee.
Candidates must choose between paying the application form online or offline in order to complete the application process for B.Sc Nursing admissions in Kerala. The application form fee can be paid in both online and offline mode.
Once the payment of the application form fee has been confirmed, candidates will receive a unique registration ID and password, which will be used for future login purposes.
Candidates are required to log in to the website and complete the application process by uploading the respective images pertaining to candidates’ passport-size photographs and signatures. Along with the images, candidates are also required to upload the necessary documents as specified by the Kerala Govt.
Once all the documents have been uploaded and details entered in the application forms, candidates are advised to go through them, in order to rectify any mistakes made during the application-filling process.

While completing the application forms for the admission processes, applicants will be required to keep the digital copy of the following documents required for Kerala B.Sc Nursing application process 2022. Candidates must upload a scanned copy of:
SSLC passing certificate for proof of Date of Birth, or equivalent.
Nativity Certificate.
Mark sheet of the respective qualifying examination.
Relevant certificates pertaining to the different categories, i.e. SEBC, OEC, SC/ST, OBC, PwD, signed by a competent authority, to avail the relevant reservation quota and fee concession.
In-Service Candidates must upload a scanned copy of a certificate of Service.
Kerala B.Sc Nursing Seat Allotment Process 2022
After completing the application process, LBSCST will release rank lists of the shortlisted candidates, based on the information entered by them in the application forms. As mentioned in the eligibility criteria above, students will be mentioned in the rank lists according to the aggregate marks obtained by them in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English, in the qualifying exam.
The centre will scrutinise the application forms received by them and shortlist the eligible candidates based on the different parameters mentioned above. Applicants will be able to check the rank list on the stipulated date. The Centre will release a separate list for the different reservation categories.
Here are the steps that will be followed for the Centralised Allotment Process for B.Sc Nursing in Kerala.
After the rank lists have been released by the Centre on the official website, candidates will be required to register themselves for the seat allotment process. The registration process for seat allotment will require candidates to select their options for the course of their choice. As per the guidelines, the registration process will only be accepted in Online Mode, between the stipulated time period.
Candidates will be allowed to register themselves in different streams at the same time, based on their qualifications and merit. Candidates must select the course and college based on their priority for the same.
In order to register the options, candidates will be asked to visit the official website and log in to the student portal with their unique application number and password.
They must then click on “Option Registration Page”, where they will be allowed to select their respective options in terms of colleges and courses.
After submitting their options, candidates must print the list of registered options and log off the student portal.
Note:
Aspirants must note that they will be able to select the course and college based on their qualifications and eligibility to the same. The options available on the page for the applicant will be among the ones that they are eligible for.
Applicants will also be able to change the priority of the choices selected by them any number of times. However, this will only be possible to do so, within the stipulated time period. Candidates will not be allowed to add more options after the stipulated time period, however, they will be allowed to modify or delete or cancel their options during the scheduled time.

Seat Allotment List and Payment of Fees
After the application forms have been scrutinised, the first seat allotment list will be released by the LBSCST on the specified time. Candidates will be required to visit the candidate login page of the official website, wherein, the names of all candidates who have been allotted a seat will be listed. Those candidates who have been allotted a seat for the course and college of their choice are required to pay the respective fees for the college and course. Payment of the fees will confirm their allotment to the course and college.
For those candidates who are still interested in trying for other options must wait till the second seat allotment list is released by the center. If the candidate is satisfied with the option that has been allotted to them, they will be asked to delete all the remaining options that they had registered in order to not be allocated another seat in the second round of allotment.
It is important to note, that once the candidate has been allotted a seat in the second round, they will not be able to select the previously allotted seat. They will be required to take admission in the college and course that has been allotted to them in the second round of B.Sc Nursing seat allotment.
