IIAD offers multiple courses through its entrance examination and each course is framed to offer the best curriculum. So, candidates who are confused about which course they should take at the institute must refer to our list to get a fair idea. With around 200 bachelor-level design seats and 40 master-level design seats available, students who are thinking of applying for the second phase of entrance are advised to take their chances and do their best. 

The IIAD entrance exam 2024 phase II is set to be held on January 27 (online/offline) & January 28, 2024 (online) by the institute itself. The phase I entrance exam was conducted on December 16 & 17, 2023 in both modes. Indian Institute of Art and Design (IIAD) is recognised as one of the prominent design schools in India. It is a private institute granting candidates with the status and alumnus of a UK-based school which is in collaboration with Kingston University. This entrance exam is conducted to select deserving candidates for design and business programmes. 

While with various courses divided as bachelor & master-level courses and design and business, the institute has a separate set of selection rounds for both. The Design Aptitude Test (iDAT) is held to design undergraduate students which are followed by a studio simulation round. However, fashion business management courses at both UG and PG levels have to sit for the IIAD Management Aptitude Test (iMAT) and personal interview round. 

IIAD includes different bachelor courses such as BA (Hons) in Fashion Design, BA (Hons) in Interior Architecture and Design, BA (Hons) in Fashion Communication, BA (Hons) in Communication Design and BA (Hons) in Fashion Business Management. There is only one master-level course offered by the institute i.e., PG in Fashion Business Management.
This entrance exam is also split into two sections which comprise multiple-choice, drawing and sketching, and descriptive type questions of objective type. 

  • The total marks of entrance is 200. Candidates must note that the mark allotted to each correct answer varies based on the type of question. 
  • It has no negative marking scheme, making it easy for students to attempt as much as they can. 
  • The IIAD Entrance Exam 2024 question paper is set to include two subjects. Each section will include a different number of questions.

The IIAD Entrance Exam 2024 Exam is created to assess a candidate's potential for imagination, creativity, writing, speaking, and writing, as well as their aptitude for design and drawing.

  • The IIAD 2024 Entrance Exam test has two sections (iDAT)
  • Logical reasoning is covered in Section A, and creative thinking and problem solving are covered in Section B

Yes, IIAD provides courses to Fashion Design aspirants. Depending on the eligibility criteria, candidates can either go for a B.A. (Hons) Fashion Design or an M.A. Fashion Design programme.

Are iDAT and iMAT part of the IIAD Entrance Exam?

Yes, if you have applied for the M.A. Fashion Design programme at IIAD, you will have to appear for a personal interview round after passing the iDAT exam.

How many seats are there in IIAD?
