NLET 2020 Law Admission

NLET or NEF Law Entrance Test is conducted by NEF Law College, Guwahati that is affiliated to the Gauhati University. Through NLET 2020 aspirants get admission to various UG and PG law courses offered by the prestigious college. Established in 2006, the law college provides courses such as BA LLB, B.Com LLB, BBA LLB, LLB and LLM. NEF Law College is extremely popular for its modern approach to education and the state-of-the-art infrastructure. Law aspirants are inclined towards NLET 2020 in order to secure admission in one of the best law colleges of the nation.

The online application process of NLET 2020 has begun from 1st June 2020 and candidates are required to register themselves for either the 5 years long integrated LLB course or a 3 year long LLB course. The last date to apply for undergraduate law admissions has not been declared yet by the authorities. It is essential for a student to satisfy the prescribed eligibility criteria else the candidature would be considered invalid. Note: The dates have been pushed ahead keeping in view the spread of the coronavirus pandemic in the nation. The schedule shall be updated here once it is out.

NLET Application Process 2020

The online application process of NLET 2020 has commenced from 1st June 2020 for the undergraduate courses. No last date has been released by the NEF Law college yet for the registration process. Candidates can apply for the exam via the online mode only due to the outbreak of COVID-19. The registration for the LLM programme will also begin soon. Check out the steps to follow in order to ensure the smooth application process listed below.

  • Visit the official website of the NEF Law college.

  • On the home page, click on the option that says ‘Apply Online’.

  • A fresh application window will open up.

  • Enter all the required information such as name, DOB, e-mail address, phone number etc.

  • Click on ‘Register’.

  • A unique user ID and password will be generated after the registration.

  • Log in using the user ID and password you just received. Click on ‘Log in’.

  • Fill the form carefully and accurately with your personal and academic credentials.

  • Enter the exam centre location as per your choice.

  • Upload the required documents.

  • Once the entire form has been filled re-visit all the details you have entered

  • Proceed to pay the application fees of Rs. 500 through Debit Card, Credit Card, E-Wallet, UPI or Net Banking methods.

  • After the fee payment has been made, submit the application form of NLET 2020 in online mode.

Note: The offline application process has not yet started due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation across the nation.

  • Birth Certificate/ HSLC or its equivalent Examination Certificate

  • Degree Marksheet & Pass Certificate (if not passed Five Year Integrated law programme)

  • HSLC & HS/ equivalent examination Marksheets & Pass Certificate

  • Transfer Certificate

  • Tribe/ Caste Certificate from Competent Authority (only if applicable)

  • Migration Certificate (wherever applicable. It can also be submitted after Admission)

NLET Eligibility Criteria 2020

NEF Law College provides admission to the candidates on the basis of NLET 2020. The eligibility criteria of NLET 2020 must be met by each candidate applying for admission. Check out the elaborated eligibility criteria described below.

NLET Integrated Law Programme Eligibility Criteria:

  • The candidates must have passed HSC/ class 12th or its equivalent from a recognised board of education.

  • The candidate must have a minimum aggregate of 45% marks in the class 12th or its equivalent examination.

  • Aspirants falling under reserved categories are provided with relaxation in marks. OBC candidates can apply with a 42% aggregate score whereas SC/ST candidates can apply with a 40% aggregate score.

  • The upper age limit for General category candidates is of 20 years. SC/ST candidates can apply until 22 years of age.

NLET LLB Eligibility Criteria:

  • The candidates must have completed graduation in any discipline from a recognised college/university.

  • The minimum aggregate score for general category is 45%. OBC candidates can apply with 42% aggregate marks whereas students falling under SC/ST category are eligible with an aggregate of 40% marks.

  • If you are awaiting your final year result, you can still apply for admission at NEF law college, given that you provide the required documents before the admission deadline.

  • The candidate must not be aged more than 30 years. SC/ST/OBC candidates are eligible until 35 years of age.

NLET LLM Eligibility Criteria:

  • An aspirant must have completed LLB or a 5 years integrated law course degree from a recognised university or college.

  • The minimum aggregate marks a candidate must score is 50%. 5% relaxation is provided to SC/ST candidates.

  • No age limit is set for admission to this course.

NLET Selection Process 2020

Once the result of NLET 2020 is declared, the roll numbers of the shortlisted candidates are displayed on the official website of the law college. They are called for provisional admission at NEF college and are selected finally on the basis of eligibility criteria and merit. Candidates with higher marks have better chances of getting admission in the desired course.

Hello Sakshi,

To secure admission to the B.A LLB programme at Swami Vivekananda Law College, you must have passed 10+2 with at least 45% marks (SC/ ST category candidates - 40%). The programme is 5 years long and divided into 10 semesters. It has an intake of 120 students. The programme is affiliated to CCS University, Meerut and approved by the Bar Council of India (BCI).

MS Motihari College admissions are open for the current academic session. Students at MS College Motihari are selected on the basis of marks obtained in the previous qualifying examination. There is no entrance test for the LLB course. Students can also get scholarships as per the government policies.
