The Symbiosis Institute of Mass and Communication (SIMC) is expected to conduct the SIMC MA (MC) entrance test Phase I in January 2023, via online mode. The registrations are likely to begin in October 2022.

It is an entrance examination at the university level that will be conducted for applicants who aspire to seek admission to the mass communication curriculum. The SIMC MA (MC) Entrance Test is conducted annually at the postgraduate level. The SIMC MA (MC) Entrance Test takes place in two phases - Phase 1 (which includes the entrance test) and Phase 2 (which includes a Panel Interview and Written Ability Test). SIMC's MA Mass Communication program offers a diverse set of courses across communication theories and culture, film and television studies, digital multimedia, and digital technologies, and offers two specializations - Audio Visual, and Journalism.

SIMC MA (MC) Entrance Test 2023: Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must check the eligibility requirements for the SIMC MA (MC) Entrance Test 2023 before filling out the application form:

Indian Students

  • Graduate from any recognized University / Institution of National Importance with a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent grade (45% or equivalent grade for Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribes).

  • Applicants expecting their final year results can also apply. However, their admission will be provisional and subject to their proof of graduation with 50% marks or equivalent grade.

  • A candidate who has completed a qualifying degree from any Foreign University must obtain an equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

International Students

  • A student is eligible to apply as a Foreign National (FN) if he or she holds a Foreign Passport.

  • A student is eligible to apply as a Person of Indian Origin (PIO) if he or she has a PIO card, and is a citizen of a country other than India.

  • A student is eligible to apply as a Non-Resident Indian (NRI) if he or she has appeared either for class 12th examination or Graduation outside India.

  • Candidates are required to choose the programme details, such as the entrance exam you want to take and your preferred test cities. Candidates should keep in mind that they can only select three cities from Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Pune, and Bengaluru.

  • Only candidates who have successfully paid the application fee are eligible to download the SIMC MA (MC) Entrance Exam 2023 admit card. 

  • Candidates can download their SIMC MA (MC) Entrance Exam 2023 hall ticket by entering their login credentials in the login dialogue box,

SIMC Pune MBA (CM): Selection Criteria

Candidates can check the selection criteria of MBA (CM) in the following points:

  • Symbiosis Institute of Mass and Communication will shortlist candidates on the basis of their SNAP Test scores.

  • The screened candidates will then have to be present for the GE-PIWAT process.

Firstly, SIMC considers the score in MA (MC) Online Entrance Test to shortlist candidates. Post clearing the SIMC MA(MC) online entrance test, the 2nd Phase involves appearing for GE-PIWAT. Here is what all you need to know about this process:

  • The process involves three components. Group Exercise, Personal Interaction, and Written Ability Test.

  • Group Exercise will include activities to assess aspirants in areas like innovation and creativity in problem-solving, team skills, time management, etc.

  • The Personal Interaction round will be to assess candidates on parameters such as interpersonal skills, communication skills, academic proficiency. course fitment etc.

  • The Written Ability Test will include questions to assess the creative analytical skills of the aspirant.

SIMC MA (MC) Online Entrance Test 2023 Result

SIMC MA (MC) online entrance test Phase I result will be released online on the official website, simc.edu. Candidates need to enter their User ID and password to check the result. Qualifier candidates of the phase I entrance test are eligible to take the GE and PI WAT. GE and PI WAT fall under the phase II of the admission process. On the basis of the performance of the candidates in phase I (entrance test) and phase 2 (GE PIWAT), the final admission is conducted. It is mandatory for the candidates to attend phase II of the admission process, or else the admission offer is not made.
