How to Calculate Scores Using UCEED 2026 Answer Key?

UCEED 2026 consists of two parts: Part A, which carries 200 marks, and Part B, which carries 100 marks. Candidates can calculate their Part A score using the UCEED 2026 answer key, but Part B marks cannot be calculated accurately until the official result is released.

Step 1: Find Raw Marks from Part A

Part A of UCEED 2026 includes three different types of questions, each with its own marking scheme.

  1. Numerical Answer Type consists of 14 questions carrying 4 marks each, with no negative marking. The score is calculated by multiplying the number of correct answers by 4.
  2. Multiple Select Questions include 15 questions and follow partial and negative marking. Full marks of 4 are given only when all correct options are selected without choosing any wrong option. Partial marks of 3, 2, or 1 are given if some correct options are chosen and no incorrect option is selected. If even one wrong option is selected, a negative marking of -1 applies.
  3. Multiple Choice Questions include 26 questions carrying 3 marks each, with a negative marking of -0.75 for every incorrect answer. The score is calculated using the formula:
3 × number of correct answers - 0.75 × number of incorrect answers.

After calculating scores from NAT, MSQ, and MCQ sections, add them together to get your Part A raw score out of 200.

Step 2: Part B Marks (If Available)

Part B of UCEED 2026 includes subjective drawing and design questions and is evaluated offline by IIT Bombay. Candidates cannot calculate Part B marks using the UCEED 2026 answer key. While some candidates may compare their answers with sample solutions or expert reviews, the exact Part B score is only available in the official result and scorecard.

Step 3: How the Final Score is Calculated?

The final UCEED 2026 score used for ranking is calculated by combining normalised scores of Part A and Part B. Part A generally carries a higher weightage of around 60-70 per cent, while Part B carries a weightage of around 30-40 per cent.

The final score is calculated using the formula:

Final Score = (α × Normalised Part A) + (β × Normalised Part B)

Here, α + β = 1, and the normalisation process ensures fairness across different exam shifts.

UCEED Answer Key 2026: What’s Next?

After the UCEED 2026 answer key is released, candidates should carefully match their recorded responses with the official answers and calculate their approximate Part A score using the correct marking scheme. If they find any incorrect answer or discrepancy, they must raise an objection within the given time through the official portal with proper justification.

Once the objection process is complete, IIT Bombay releases the final UCEED 2026 answer key. This final key is used to calculate official scores for Part A and, along with Part B evaluation, to prepare the final result and rank list. After the UCEED 2026 result is declared, qualified candidates can participate in B.Des admissions at IIT Bombay and other participating institutes using their UCEED rank and scorecard.
