West Bengal BA Eligibility Criteria 2022

The minimum eligibility criteria for BA admission in different institutes of West Bengal are as follows:

• The candidates need to be qualified in the class 12th examination from a recognized board
• They must have secured at least 50% marks in the (10+2) examination. The SC/ST candidates will get a 5% relaxation in their total marks
• The language opted as the medium of study, must be read in their (10+2)
• For some colleges and universities, candidates will have to secure the required entrance exam score for taking BA admission

Calcutta University BA Admission Selection Process

The BA admission to this age-old state university is determined depending on the WBJEE scores and merit list. The university publishes a merit list for the shortlisted candidates. The merit list contains the names and ranks of the selected candidates. The shortlisted candidates are then called for attending the counselling sessions. The final admission is offered based on the ranks, entrance test scores, and document verification. Most of the colleges run under this prestigious university offer admissions either based on merit or based on merit and entrance test scores conducted by the respective colleges.

Jadavpur University BA Admission Selection Process

Admission to Jadavpur University BA programmes is confirmed based on the +2-level merit and entrance test score. The admission criteria are set by the university itself. The university publishes its admission announcement on its official website, in major newspapers, and in media houses. The Faculty of Arts has an admission committee that intermittently reviews the selection and admission process. All new changes are brought to public notice.

Aliah University BA Admission Selection Process

Interested candidates need to apply online for the BA courses offered by Aliah University. Aliah University will conduct AUAT-2022 as an admission test. On the completion of the entrance test, the university will release a provisional merit list on its website. Candidates have to download their rank cards. Offline or e-counseling will be done for the final selection. On the completion of the counselling process, candidates will get a provisional allotment. The candidates enlisted in the provisional allotment list will be allowed only for paying the admission fees.

Presidency University BA Admission Selection Process

The applications for Presidency University BA Admission are received online. Earlier, the university considered the PUBDET scores for admission to Bachelor’s Degree programmes. But from the last year, the university is only considering merit which is the scores of the previous qualifying examinations for the admission of the students.

Rabindra Bharati University BA Admission Selection Process

The online applications for BA programmes are invited just after the publication of +2 results. The university conducts interview/admission tests/written tests for some courses. A list of the shortlisted candidates is published on the university’s website. Following the merit list, provisional admission is offered to the candidates.

West Bengal State University BA Admission Selection Process

Admission to the colleges operated under the guidance of the West Bengal State University, Barasat will be the same as the previous years. The candidates will be selected for all the UG programmes including BA based on the CBCS regulations. The eligibility for admission will be decided based on the order of marks of the top four subjects studied at the +2 level.
