IIT Bombay BTech + MTech JEE Advanced Cutoff 2026 (Expected)

The expected JEE Advanced 2026 cutoff for IIT Bombay BTech + MTech in Electrical Engineering is projected to tighten slightly compared to 2025, driven by rising interest in integrated semiconductor, VLSI, and communications research tracks. With this being the only dual-degree programme at IIT Bombay, competition continues to concentrate within a limited seat pool, pushing category-wise ranks upward by an estimated 5–10%. Candidates with stronger AIRs are expected to prioritise the dual-degree route due to the guaranteed M.Tech specialisation and deeper R&D exposure, especially as India’s chip-design ecosystem expands.

  • General category cutoffs for the Integrated MTech programme in Electrical Engineering may tighten by 6–9%, with a closing rank of AIR 820.
  • OBC-NCL and EWS categories may move 5–8% upward, with a higher closing rank.
  • SC/ST cutoffs are expected to remain relatively stable with 2–4% movement.

IIT Bombay BDes UCEED Cutoff 2026 (Expected)

IIT Bombay BDes UCEED Cutoff 2026 is expected to stay highly competitive, with only the top ranks standing a strong chance of securing a seat in the institute’s design programme. Based on previous closing ranks and current trend movements, the General category may continue to fall within the first 15–17 ranks, while other categories may show only mild shifts.

The overall stability comes from steady demand, limited seat availability, and consistent performance patterns in UCEED. Reserved category students are expected to face a more stringent cutoff than the OPEN category.

  • Expected rank movement for BDes remains small because IIT Bombay’s design programme continues to attract the highest-scoring aspirants.
  • Reserved categories may see only slight changes, influenced mainly by applicant volume and category-wise seat distribution.
  • The competition is expected to stay intense due to limited seats and high preference among top rankers.
  • Final allotment will still depend on counselling rounds, as ranks may shift slightly between Round 1 and Round 3.

IIT Bombay CEED 2026 Cutoff (Expected)

The IIT Bombay CEED cutoff 2026 is expected to rise slightly compared to 2025, mainly due to growing interest in design fields, better overall preparation trends, and the steady increase in applicants targeting the 5 MDes specialisations at Industrial Design Centre under IIT Bombay. Based on past patterns, the expected qualifying score for CEED 2026 Part A may fall in the 55–60 range for General, which is higher than last year’s mean-based benchmark. Reserved category ranges are also expected to shift upward.

  • The expected cutoff of MDes reflects a steady upward trend seen over the last two exam cycles.
  • Competition is likely to intensify as more candidates are switching to design-related programmes from engineering and architecture backgrounds.
  • IIT Bombay will continue using CEED scores only as the first filter, followed by written tasks, studio rounds, and interviews.

IIT Bombay CEED Cutoff 2025 for MDes

The IIT Bombay CEED cutoff 2025 for MDes became slightly tougher this year. The Part A qualifying level reached a mean score of 45.48, with a standard deviation of 16.98, which is higher than the 2024 mean of 41.90. This simply means students scored a bit better overall, so clearing the first stage needed more accuracy.

The rising interest in areas like interaction design, communication design, and mobility design also added to the competition. After clearing the cutoff, candidates still had to face written tasks, studio rounds and interviews, making the entire selection process competitive, strict and multi-step.

  • Part A scores were slightly higher than last year, showing stronger competition.
  • IIT Bombay used 70% CEED score + 30% written/interview to rank students for admission.
  • The total number of MDes seats at IDC was 68, spread across all five design branches.

Lovely Professional University (LPU) administers LPUNEST, a merit-oriented entrance and scholarship test for student-focused admissions. Applicants may apply via the internet, select their testing format—remote or on-site—and are required to fulfill course-specific academic qualifications. LPU also considers scores from national assessments such as JEE Main, CUET, CAT, MAT, NATA, and CLAT. Upon qualifying, students receive counseling and secure their admission by paying the necessary fees. Scholarships as high as 65% are granted depending on LPUNEST results and overall performance, along with additional assistance for gifted students in multiple disciplines

Dear Student,

We think that you have mistaken Mohammed Sahil Akhtar for Shoaib Akhtar, as per the records of the JEE Advanced exams; Md. Sahil Akhtar took JEE Advanced 2023 and secured a 99th rank. However, Akhtar dropped the vision of getting into IIT during counselling to pursue a double major in computer science and physics at MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology). He realised the opportunity to get into IT for research after taking the IOAA Olympiad in Georgia. Sahil is from Kolkata and completed his intermediate from Delhi Public School (DPS), Ruby Park, and he appeared for the JEE main 2023 for the April session. We hope that we have answered your query successfully. Stay tuned to CollegeDekho for the latest updates related to JEE Main 2025 and JEE Advanced 2025. We wish you success in your future!
