Overall: Very good college with nice infrastructure and smart classes. However, there is an attendance issue — you must maintain at least 66.67% attendance, otherwise you will be detained. The campus is big and there's a canteen as well.
Placement: The college provides placement opportunities, and there are many active societies that help you gain exposure in different sectors, such as the Placement Cell. However, you need to work hard and stay active to actually secure a good placement.
Infrastructure: The college campus is divided into many blocks. But the most advanced block is the C Block, which has smart boards, air-conditioned classrooms, a big ground, and a sports room. The college canteen offers a large menu. There is also an auditorium and Union Bank service within the campus. The air-conditioned library is well-equipped with all types of books, magazines, and newspapers.
Faculty: The faculty members are knowledgeable and supportive. They explain concepts clearly and are always ready to help students, both inside and outside the classroom.
Hostel: This college does not provide hostel facilities, so you have to look for PGs or flats through brokers, which are easily available near the college campus. PGs usually cost around ₹10,000 per month.
Overall: Review of Delhi University Delhi University (DU) is one of India's most prestigious institutions, known for its academic excellence, vibrant student life, and rich heritage. Established in 1922, DU offers a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs in Arts, Science, Commerce, Law, and other fields. With top-ranked colleges like St. Stephen’s, Hindu, Miranda House, and SRCC, DU consistently maintains high educational standards. The university is famous for its competitive admission process, with high cut-offs making it challenging for students to secure a seat. However, those who do get in benefit from experienced faculty, diverse courses, and numerous research opportunities. The affordable fee structure compared to private universities makes DU an attractive option for students from all backgrounds. Beyond academics, DU is known for its lively campus culture. Students actively participate in cultural societies, sports, debates, and college festivals like Mecca (Hindu College) and Crossroads (SRCC). The university’s location in Delhi provides excellent exposure, internships, and job opportunities. However, infrastructure in some colleges needs improvement, and administrative delays can be frustrating. Despite these challenges, DU remains a top choice for students seeking a well-rounded educational experience, strong career prospects, and an exciting college life.
Placement: Review of Delhi University Placements Delhi University (DU) is one of India’s most prestigious institutions, and its placement opportunities vary across colleges and courses. Top colleges like Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), St. Stephen’s, Hindu College, Lady Shri Ram (LSR), and Hansraj have excellent placement records, with students securing jobs in reputed companies across diverse sectors such as finance, consulting, IT, media, and marketing. The university's central placement cell, along with individual college placement cells, plays a crucial role in inviting recruiters, conducting training sessions, and helping students prepare for interviews. Major recruiters include companies like Deloitte, EY, KPMG, PwC, McKinsey, Google, and various startups. Students from commerce, economics, and management backgrounds tend to receive the best placement offers, often with impressive salary packages. However, placement opportunities for arts and science students are relatively limited, as companies primarily focus on business-related fields. While some colleges provide internships and job opportunities for humanities and science students, many students from these streams opt for further studies or government exams. Overall, DU’s placement scenario is strong for commerce and management students, decent for science students, and relatively limited for arts students. The university’s brand name, networking opportunities, and exposure still provide students with excellent career prospects
Infrastructure: Review of Delhi University Infrastructure Delhi University (DU) is one of India’s most prestigious institutions, but its infrastructure varies significantly across colleges. The university comprises two main campuses—North Campus and South Campus—along with several off-campus colleges spread across Delhi. While some colleges boast excellent facilities, others struggle with outdated infrastructure. Many of the older colleges, such as St. Stephen’s, Hindu College, and Miranda House, have beautiful colonial-era buildings with well-maintained libraries, lecture halls, and green spaces. Colleges like SRCC and Hansraj have modern classrooms, digital libraries, and well-equipped auditoriums. However, some colleges, especially in the off-campus areas, face challenges such as inadequate classroom space, outdated laboratories, and limited hostel facilities. Library resources across DU are commendable, with the Central Library and individual college libraries offering vast collections of books, journals, and digital resources. Sports facilities vary, with some colleges having well-maintained grounds and gymnasiums, while others lack proper infrastructure for physical activities. The university’s Wi-Fi connectivity and digital resources have improved, but some colleges still face network issues. Additionally, administrative offices often experience delays due to outdated management systems. Despite these challenges, DU’s infrastructure continues to improve, with ongoing renovations and government initiatives aimed at modernization.
Faculty: Review of Delhi University Faculty Delhi University (DU) is renowned for its highly qualified and experienced faculty, which plays a significant role in maintaining its reputation as one of India's top educational institutions. The university attracts some of the best academicians, researchers, and industry experts, ensuring that students receive quality education across various disciplines. Most DU professors hold advanced degrees from reputed institutions and are actively engaged in research, contributing to academic journals and conferences. Their expertise helps students gain in-depth knowledge and develop critical thinking skills. Colleges like St. Stephen’s, Hindu, Miranda House, and SRCC have particularly distinguished faculty members who are known for their teaching methodologies and mentorship. However, the faculty experience varies across colleges. While top-ranking colleges have excellent professors, some off-campus and less prestigious colleges struggle with faculty shortages and temporary appointments. Many departments rely on ad-hoc and guest lecturers due to delays in permanent faculty recruitment, affecting the consistency of teaching quality. Despite these challenges, DU faculty members are known for their dedication, engaging lectures, and support for students in academics and career guidance. Many professors also encourage extracurricular involvement, research projects, and internships, helping students build strong academic and professional foundations.
Hostel: Review of Delhi University Hostels Delhi University (DU) offers hostel facilities in several of its colleges, but the availability is limited, and competition for seats is high. While some colleges provide well-maintained and modern hostels, others face infrastructure challenges. Many North Campus colleges, like St. Stephen’s, Hindu, Miranda House, and Ramjas, have good hostel facilities with spacious rooms, common areas, and mess services. These hostels offer a comfortable and secure environment, especially for outstation students. Some South Campus colleges, such as Sri Venkateswara College and PGDAV, also provide hostel accommodations, though they are fewer in number. However, the demand for hostel accommodation far exceeds the supply, forcing many students to seek private PGs (paying guest accommodations) or rented apartments in areas like Kamla Nagar, Vijay Nagar, and Satya Niketan. This adds to their financial burden as private housing is significantly more expensive than DU hostels. While some hostels are well-maintained with proper hygiene, internet access, and recreational spaces, others face issues such as overcrowding, outdated infrastructure, and inadequate maintenance. Additionally, hostel rules can be strict, particularly for women’s hostels, with early curfews that some students find restrictive. Overall, DU hostels provide affordable and convenient living options, but limited seats and maintenance issues remain areas for improvement.
