Tips to Get 99.99+ Percentile in JEE Main 2026

First, know what 99.99+ means! It means being among the top 100-150 students in the entire country. This usually requires a score close to 270 out of 300, with almost no silly mistakes.

  • Studying 8-10 hours daily with proper breaks is much better than studying 12-14 hours without focus. Try to divide time evenly among Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, and reserve at least 1-2 hours daily only for solving questions.

  • Use only a few good books. Constantly changing books creates confusion.

    • For Physics: NCERT + one good book (like HC Verma or coaching material).

    • For Chemistry: NCERT is very important (can add one reference for Organic and Physical).

    • For Maths: NCERT + one standard book (like Cengage or coaching modules).

  • Focus more on high-weightage chapters.

    • Physics: Mechanics, Electrodynamics, Modern Physics, Optics, SHM & Waves.

    • Chemistry: Mole concept, Thermodynamics, Equilibrium, Electrochemistry, Organic reactions, p‑block, d‑block, Coordination compounds.

    • Maths: Calculus, Algebra (Quadratic, Sequence, Binomial, Complex), Coordinate Geometry, Vectors & 3D, Probability.

  • Try to solve 60-80 quality questions daily, including at least 10-15 previous year JEE Main questions. Also, don’t just solve, revise your mistakes and weak topics every week.

  • Start full-length 3-hour mock tests at least 6-8 months before the exam. In the final 3-4 months, attempt 2-3 mocks per week, and spend as much time analysing mocks as you spend giving them.

  • During the exam, try to complete all the easy and medium questions first. Target solving 70-75 questions within 2.5 hours, and avoid wasting time on doubtful questions.
