JEE Main 22 Jan 2026 Shift 2 memory-based question paper with solutions PDF is now available. With a difficulty rating of 2.9/5, the exam paper was tougher than the previous days and shifts. Physics questions were theoretical-based; Chemistry easier, NCERT-based. Maths had lengthy calculations.

JEE Mains Question Paper 22 January 2026 Shift 2 is available now that the exam has concluded. The paper for this shift was of a moderate to tough difficulty level, rated 2.9 out of 5. The Physics and Mathematics sections were difficult, while the Chemistry section was comparatively easier. Around 3 to 9 questions on topics like Algebra, Vectors, 3D Geometry, and Calculus dominated the Mathematics section. According to Anushka Saha, a student who was interviewed by CLD, "A good amount of direct formula-based and a few theoretically tricky questions were featured in Physics. But the Chemistry section had overall straightforward questions from the NCERT curriculum." Similarly, another test-taker named Rahul Goswami, who got in touch with CLD after the Shift 2 exam concluded, has stated, "The Mathematics section had a few complex questions which required lengthy answers." Several concepts from the previous years were reapted in the JEE Mains 2026 January 22 Shift 2 paper, and it is reportedly the toughest shift of Session 1 so far this year. Students who are appearing for the JEE Mains exam on the next day can use the Day 2 question paper as a reference to strengthen their preparation process.

How Was JEE Mains Question Paper for January 21, 2026, Shift 2?

The JEE Mains 2026 question paper for January 21 Shift 2 was of a moderately difficult level. The Mathematics section in this shift was the toughest, while the Physics section was the easiest. Topics such as Modern Physics, Ray Optics, and Thermodynamics were covered in the Physics section, while Hydrocarbons, Coordination Compounds, and Chemical Kinetics were the main focus in the Chemistry section. The overall good attempts for Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics combined are around 52-55, respectively.

To sum it up, the JEE Mains Question Paper 22 January 2026 Shift 2 was tough, more difficult than the Day 1 exam. The paper featured a good number of direct application-based and tricky theoretical questions from Physics and Chemistry, and Mathematics.
