CAT 2018: Check Out Seat Reservation Policy at IIMs

IIMs follow central government reservation policy based on CAT 2018 percentile and score secured by students. Aspirants of CAT 2018 must clearly note that reservation policies are applicable only to the institution but not CAT 2018.

Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Calcutta will be conducting CAT 2018 examination basis which applicants will be able to anticipate and get insights on their performance. CAT is a national-level management examination for which nearly two lakh students register every year. Once the exam is successfully conducted, you will be able to find a detailed analysis of CAT 2018 and will be able to estimate your CAT 2018 score. CAT applicants will also be able to evaluate their result using our CAT 2018 percentile predictor once the exam is over.

For getting admission to Post Graduate Programme in Management in IIMs across the country, one must qualify for the CAT examination. As far as seat reservation policy is concerned, IIMs follow central government reservation policy.

Aspirants of CAT 2018 must clearly note that reservation policies are applicable only to the institution but not CAT 2018.

Reservation Policy at IIMs:

Candidates who are eligible for reservation under various categories must understand that fulfilling the reservation policy does not guarantee the admission to IIMs. The candidates must have a prescribed eligibility criterion along with the minimum level of performance in Common Admission Test or CAT 2018 and subsequent rounds of the admission process. The reservation policies followed by IIMs are listed below: -

  • IIMs will consider only those categories mentioned in the central government list on the last day of CAT 2017 registration.
  • IIMs follow the reservation policy only for three categories of disability, i.e., locomotor disability or cerebral palsy, hearing impairment and low vision blindness.
  • However, disabled candidates who are suffering from more than 40% of the above-mentioned disabilities are considered eligible for reservation.

Note: - Candidates who wish to seek admission as per the reservation policies must upload the category or disability certificate at the time of registration of CAT 2018.
