IIT Bombay B.Des Eligibility Criteria 2021
Once the result for UCEED is out, candidates can apply for admission to the B.Des course. IDC IIT Bombay considers the UCEED scorecard of the candidates before offering them admission to the college. It is mandatory for the applicants to fulfil the eligibility criteria of IIT Bombay as without it the college will consider the application of the candidate as invalid. Mentioned below are the conditions that need to be met in order to successfully get through IIT Bombay B.Des Admissions 2021.
The candidate must have passed class 12/intermediate or an equivalent examination from a recognised board of education either in the same year in which he/she seeks admission or in the year previous to it.
Aspirants willing to pursue B.Des from IIT Bombay should have the date of birth of 1 October 1996. Students belonging to SC, ST or PwD category can apply if they were born on or after 1 October 1991.
The aspirant must have qualified UCEED (obtained a rank) and must be in possession of the scorecard.
Note: It should be noted in case a candidate has been awarded a letter grade in the qualifying examination without any information on the passing grade, he/she is required to obtain the specific passing grade on the grade sheet by the education board.
IIT Bombay B.Des Selection Process 2021
Students are shortlisted for B.Des admissions at IIT Bombay on the basis of the score secured by them in the UCEED examination. Further, the preferences of the institute filled by the candidate are also kept in mind before considering him/her for admissions. Candidates who have not passed the qualifying exam of intermediate are not considered for admission to the institute. Also, the better the score of an individual is in UCEED, the more are his chances of getting the course and the institute of his choice.
The seat allocation process for B.Des is conducted in three rounds by the institute. Once all the seats are filled, the admission process is closed by the institute. Candidates selected in the seat allotment process receive a provisional letter for admission through the registered email.
How to Apply for IIT Bombay B.Des Admissions 2021
A candidate can apply for pursuing B.Des from IIT Bombay only if he/she has qualified for the UCEED exam. The Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) comprising IIT Bombay, IIT Guwahati, IIITDM Jabalpur and IIT Hyderabad have a common application form for their B.Des course. IIT Bombay, UCEED office proceed with the common application process and carry out the joint seat allocation process. Candidate needs to visit the IIT Bombay admissions portal and download the common application form.
Applicants are required to fill the personal and academic credentials in the application form.
Candidates need to upload the scanned images of the required documents.
After uploading the documents the aspirant needs to upload the signed copy of the first page of the completed application form.
The next step is to select the institute as per the preference.
The admission form will get submitted only once the application fee is paid.
Note: A candidate will be able to edit the information entered in the application form until the application period closes. After the closing date of the application form, the information filled in it is considered as final. The institute does not entertain any request regarding changes in the application form.
It should also be noted that half-filled or incomplete application forms are summarily rejected and the applications are considered as invalid.

IIT Bombay B.Des Admissions 2021: Selection Allotment Guidelines
Here are some important guidelines that need to be kept in mind by the candidate aspiring to study B.Des from IDC IIT Bombay.
The selected candidate is required to pay the seat application fee before the deadline otherwise their admission is cancelled by the institute.
If a candidate is provided with an admission letter from his/her first choice of the institute, he/she can either accept or decline the offer.
In case an aspirant is provided with an offer of admission to his/her second or third choice, he/she can freeze the offer. Also, in such a case the candidate can opt for the ‘float’ option.
The acceptance fees will be adjusted with the institute’s fees for the candidates accepting the offered seat.
