How to Obtain Domicile Certificate for JENPAS UG 2025?

The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board ( WBJEEB ) conducts the JENPAS UG 2025 for admission of candidates to several undergraduate nursing, paramedical, and allied sciences courses. Candidates who want to claim reservation must submit a Domicile Certificate from the appropriate authorities at the time of counselling and admission as per the norms laid by the governing authorities.

Selecting the correct proforma (A1, A2, B) for the domicile certificate is important as it affects various aspects of the J ENPAS UG 2025 Counseling / Admission Process. In this article, we have provided all the information about How to Obtain a Domicile Certificate for JENPAS UG 2025 and their details. The JENPAS UG 2025 exam was conducted on June 30, 2025. The results for the same are expected to be announced in August 2025.

Requirements to Be Considered as Domicile of West Bengal

For admission in any category of the seat in any course at any institute, the candidate must be a West Bengal resident. Only those candidates who have lived in West Bengal continuously for at least 10 years as of December 31, 2023, will be considered West Bengal residents. OR whose parents are permanent residents of West Bengal and have a permanent address in the state.

How to Obtain a Domicile Certificate for JENPAS UG 2025?

The table below explains how applicants can obtain a Domicile Certificate for the JENPAS UG 2025 exam.

  • Candidates need to first download the relevant Proforma - A1, A2, and B Certificate.

Proforma 'A1' Proforma 'A2' Proforma 'B'
  • Proforma A1 and A2 certificates can be downloaded for candidates who have lived in the state of West Bengal for at least the last ten years as of December 31, 2023.
  • Proforma B certificate can be downloaded for candidates who do not reside in West Bengal but whose parents are permanent residents of the state.
  • Proforma 'A1' and 'B' must be certified by government officials as listed below.
  • While proforma 'A2' the Head of the Institution from which the candidate has passed or will appear in the 10+2 examination must sign and certify Proforma 'A2.' This certificate can only be issued when the candidate’s school records have been verified.
  • Any of the following competent authorities from the Central Government or State Government with the local authority over the residence of concerned candidate's or parents' residence must sign and validate Proforma 'A1' or 'B' Certificate:-

Judicial Magistrate of any level/ rank or position in the concerned district or Metropolitan region, as well as the Honorable High Court of Calcutta or the Honorable Supreme Court of India.

Corporation Area - Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner, Additional Commissioner and Joint Commissioner.

Assistant Secretary or higher in the Government of West Bengal (includes GTA) or Central Government.

Deputy Director or higher in the Directorate of the West Bengal Government or the Central Government.

  • Officials issuing domicile certificates are required to provide their full name, designation, place of posting with address, and landline/mobile phone number. If his/her identity card number is accessible, he/she should also provide it.
  • The Domicile certificates issued either by an elected member/representative, such as an MLA, MP, Municipal commissioner, councillor of a municipal corporation or municipality, member of the  3- tier Panchayat system, or a member of the GTA, cannot be acceptable.
