JNU MBA Admissions

Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) is about to commence the MBA admission process 2021 based on CAT 2020 for the Atal Bihari Vajpayee School of Management & Entrepreneurship (ABV-SME). The JNU MBA Admissions will be based on the CAT 2020 scores of a candidate and are expected to commence in the 3rd week of January 2021.

Interested applicants will be required to fill the MBA application form for JNU 2021 once it is released in the online mode on the official website. JNU started offering MBA degrees from 2019 through ABV-SME. Candidates interested in taking MBA admission at JNU will have to go through the JNU MBA Selection Process after qualifying the eligibility criteria set by the institute.

The official JNU MBA Admission Dates are not yet released by the university. However, candidates can take a look at the tentative schedule given below and plan their application accordingly. The candidates applying for the JNU MBA course must have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in any discipline from a recognised university. The candidate must have received at least 3 years of bachelor's education after completing Class 12th/ 10+2.

Candidates in the final year of their bachelor’s degree course can also register for JNU MBA admission with a valid CAT 2020 score.

JNU MBA Application Process 2021

JNU releases their MBA application form in the online mode on the official website. Candidates have to register on the website, complete the application form and pay the application fee before final submission. The steps to fill the JNU MBA Application Form 2021 can be found below.

  • Visit the official website of Jawaharlal Nehru University (

  • On the home page, click on the option ‘School & Centres’

  • Under the schools & centres tab, click on the link that indicates ‘Atal Bihari Vajpayee School of Management and Entrepreneurship’

  • The official page for JNU MBA will open in a new tab

  • Click on the tab ‘Admissions’

  • Now click on ‘Apply online’

  • Complete the pre-registration by entering your Name, E-Mail ID

  • Create a Password and click on ‘Submit’

  • You will receive a validation link in the e-mail

  • Click on the validation link to activate your account

  • Now, log in with E-Mail and Password

  • The online application form for JNU MBA course will be displayed

  • Fill all the necessary details

  • Submit the CAT score

  • Upload the relevant documents like photograph

  • Pay the JNU MBA application fee

  • Take the printout of filled-in application form for future reference

JNU MBA Seat Intake 2021

JNU has 75 seats available in the ABV-SME for its MBA course. Candidates must also note that the university also follows the reservation policy specified by the Government of India for its MBA programme.

JNU MBA Admit Card 2021

Candidates who have not appeared for the CAT examination will have to appear for JNU entrance test for MBA. The important dates for the MBA entrance exam of JNU will be updated on the college website. The admit card will also be updated on the official website of the college.

JNU MBA Selection Process 2021

The selection process for JNU MBA course is as follows.

Stage 1

  • After applications have closed, JNU shortlists eligible candidates for MBA admissions based on their CAT 2020 score.
  • The list of candidates shortlisted for JNU MBA second stage selection process shall be published on the official website of JNU, and the same shall be intimated to candidates via e-mail.

Stage 2

  • JNU MBA Stage 2 selection process is an interview.
  • The shortlisted candidates shall be invited to participate in an interview on the dates mentioned above.

Stage 3

  • Final selection of candidates shall be based on overall performance in CAT and Interview.
  • JNU gives 70% weightage to CAT and 30% for Interview during the final selection.
  • The overall score as per the above criterion shall be considered for the final selection.
  • The list of selected candidates for JNU MBA course will be published on the official website.

The selected candidates must confirm their admission by booking the seat on the official website of JNU Atal Bihari Vajpayee School of Management and Entrepreneurship. If the candidates fail to book their seats within the dates mentioned above, their selection will be cancelled, and the seats will be allocated to the next candidate in the waiting list.

JNU MBA Final Merit List 2021

After the GD-PI rounds for MBA admissions at JNU have been conducted, the university will compile the final scores of all candidates. On the basis of their CAT 2020 scores and performance in GD-PI, candidates will be placed in a merit list. The MBA merit list of JNU will be released by the university on its official website. Candidates whose names appear in the merit list will be offered final admission to MBA at JNU.
