Important Notice Regarding MBA Admissions in Maharashtra for AY 2020-21
The State Government's decision to remove ATMA, MAT, GMAT and XAT from the entrance exams accepted for admission in MBA/MMS courses in Maharashtra has been invalidated by the Bombay High Court. The decision was challenged by several petitioners who had filed a case against this decision. As per the Bombay High Court Ruling, the decision of removing said entrance exams was found to be arbitrary. The MBA admission process in Maharashtra will resume on a later date after adding ATMA, MAT, XAT and GMAT back to the admission process. Candidates should await an official notification, which will be released on the official website.

Entrance Exams Accepted by Maharashtra MBA Colleges
DTE Maharashtra conducts state-level MBA entrance exam, i.e., MAH-CET for admission to MBA/ MMS course in government, private and semi-government management colleges. Apart from MAH-CET, most of the B-Schools in Maharashtra accept the score of other national-level entrance exams for MBA/ MMS admissions. The list of entrance exams is given below.
Private or deemed varsities in Maharashtra conduct separate entrance exams for MBA course. However, students with a valid score in the above exams can also apply to these universities without appearing for the varsity-level entrance exam.
Note: Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) Maharashtra conducts Centralised Admission Process (CAP) for only candidates with a valid score in MAH-CET/ CAT/ GMAT/ CMAT.

Registrations for MBA Admissions in Maharashtra 2020
Candidates who have applied for MAH CET need not pay any registration fees. However, those who have not registered for MAH CET and are applying for admission on the basis of CAT/ CMAT need to pay the application fee as provided in the table below.

Maharashtra MBA Admission Reservation Policy
Under DTE CAP, the MBA seats in Maharashtra are divided into four categories: -
- Maharashtra State Candidature Seats or State Quota Seats
- All India Candidature Seats
- Minority Quota Seats
- Institutional Quota Seats
DTE Maharashtra will follow the reservation policies of the state government strictly for all the categories of MBA seats. DTE will prepare category wise merit list to comply with Maharashtra state reservation policies.

Documents Required for MBA Admission 2020 in Maharashtra
The following are the mandatory documents required to take MBA admission 2020 in Maharashtra: -

The MAH CET final merit list 2020 is released after the declaration of MAH CET 2021 Result. The merit list will be released on Dec 20, 2020. Maharashtra MBA Selection Process 2020
There are three ways in which a candidate in Maharashtra is selected to get admission in MBA colleges of the state. Candidates must go through the following selection processes to get a clearer understanding.
Selection Process for Maharashtra 2020 Admissions DTE CAP MAH CET 2020/ CAT/ GMAT/ CMAT
DTE Maharashtra has started the registration process for CAP (Centralised Admission Process) in Dec 2020.
Candidates with a valid MAH MBA CET 2020/ CAT/ GMAT/ CMAT score are eligible to register for DTE CAP.
The selection process is based on the MBA/ MMS merit list released by DTE Maharashtra.
The seat allocation will be based on rank or merit of the candidates in the entrance exams.
During the counselling process, the candidates will have to exercise web options.
Based on the rank and college preferences, DTE will allocate the seats.
Usually, DTE Maharashtra conducts four rounds of CAP, and the candidates who are not able to secure a seat in the first round of CAP can take part in subsequent rounds.
Students of Maharashtra domicile are eligible to take part in DTE CAP.

Selection Process for Maharashtra 2020 Admissions based on Other Entrance Exams
Students who are not interested to take part in DTE CAP can apply for popular B-Schools individually with a state or national-level entrance test core.
These institutes may shortlist the candidates based on their entrance test scores.
The shortlisted candidates will have to take part in other stages of the selection process that involve Group Discussion/ Written Ability Test/ Personal Interview.
The institutes will decide the mode of the selection process.
The final selection for MBA/ MMS course is based on the candidate’s performance in all stages of the selection process.
Direct MBA Admission/ Management Quota Admission for Maharashtra 2020 Admissions
Students who did not take part in DTE CAP or were unable to secure seats can approach the private colleges and deemed universities directly for admission under management quota.
The individual institution decides the eligibility criteria for management quota admission.
DTE sanctioned 20% of seats to each private management institute that can be filled through management quota.

Counselling Process of MAH CET
- Candidates need to register themselves for the MAH CET counselling. They will also have to submit required documents along with the application form
- After that, candidates will have to visit to the E-Scrutiny Center for verification and confirmation of the application form.
- After verifying the application form of candidates, the exam authority will release the MHT CET 2020 provisional merit of candidates. Candidates who feature in the provisional merit list will be allowed to participate in the subsequent rounds of MHT CET counselling process.
- The final merit list will be declared after verifying the objections on the provisional merit list.
- Once the final merit list of MHT CET 2020 is out, the category wise seats or seat matrix will be released for CAP rounds
- Candidates will then have to fill the online option form after checking the seats available for the respective CAP round
- After that, a seat allotment list will be released that will allow the candidates to check the college allotted to them
- Candidates may then visit the college to confirm their admission
MAH CET Seat Allotment 2020
The institute-wise seat allotment list for CAP round under MAH CET counselling process will be released in the final week of December 2020. The MAH CET 2020 seat allotment list, contains college-wise lists of the number of seats that are to be allocated to all the categories. The list is released on the official website of MAH CET every year.
Candidates who have allotted a seat as per their preference in the Round will have to pay the Seat Acceptance Fee to confirm their seat. The Seat Acceptance Fee shall be Rs. 1,000/- for all Candidates. They will have to pay the seat allotment fee for the first allotment only. These candidates shall not be allowed to participate in remaining rounds. Besides this, those who have allotted other than first preference and self freezed their allotment in Round I through their login will have to accept the seat and pay seat acceptance fees through online mode.
Candidates who have allotted seat other than first preference and want betterment in the subsequent rounds must claim the allotted seat in Round I by accepting that seat by choosing "Not Freeze" option for the betterment and shall pay the seat acceptance fee through their login by online mode.
At last, candidates who have accepted the seat will have to visit the college to confirm their admission.
