If one does not lock their choices, the last saved choices will be locked automatically upon reaching the deadline for the JoSAA choice filling. The automatically locked choice list will be considered for allocating a seat during the JoSAA counselling process.
In case, a new seat is not allotted to a candidate in the CSAB-Special round, then the JoSAA seat will be retained with the candidates.
In the JoSAA choice filling process, candidates are allowed to enter and arrange their choices of institutes and colleges according to their wish to be admitted to. Candidates are suggested to fill as many choices as possible in order of their preference to increase their chances of seat allotment in JoSAA.
The partial JoSAA admission fee is set at INR 20,000 for the SC/ST category students and Rs 40,000 for the General, OBC, and EWS category students.

The JEE Main exam rank required for securing admission into an National Institute of Technology (NIT) depends upon the institute, course, and the category of the candidate. The higher the JEE Main rank, the greater the chance of securing admission into the NITs.
Candidates must satisfy at least one of the following two criteria: Must have qualified and secured at least 75% aggregate marks in the Class XII (or equivalent) Board examination and the aggregate marks for the SC, ST and PwD candidates should be at least 65%.
A good percentile and score are equally important for admission to these esteemed institutions. Candidates should have a percentile between 85-95 to get seats in the NITs.
The NIT Srinagar cutoff for the open category for the CSE course is 29977. Whereas NIT Srinagar cutoff for OBC is 536719, and for the EWS category, it is 100279. The cutoff will vary according to the categories.
Candidates who pass JEE Advanced 2025 will have the opportunity to participate in JoSAA 2025 counselling. To be eligible, candidates must score at least 75% in Class 12 or rank in the top 20 percentile. For SC, ST, and PwD candidates, the qualifying percentage is 65%.
The lowest cutoff for NITs ranges from 2024 for males to 4314 for females in the National Institute of Technology Calicut, National Institute of Technology Delhi for males 4306 and for females 5902, National Institute of Technology Durgapur is 3070 for males 2136 for females.
