Tips for Navigating Maharashtra Exam Centres
Maharashtra has one of the highest densities of JEE aspirants in India. Here is how to handle the logistics for the major hubs:
- The Mumbai/Navi Mumbai Hub (MR43): Many "Mumbai" centres are actually located in North Suburbs like Kandivali, Mira Road, or Thane. If you are travelling from South or Central Mumbai, start at least 2 hours early to account for Western/Central Express Highway congestion.
- The Pune/Pimpri-Chinchwad Hub (MR22): Most high-capacity centres tend to be in areas like Wagholi or on the outskirts of the city, far from the main Pune railway station. We recommend staying near your allotted area the night before to avoid morning traffic.
- The Nagpur/Vidarbha Hub (MR17): Nagpur is the primary hub for students from Wardha and Bhandara. It features several well-equipped digital test zones known for good hardware stability and power backup.
- The Marathwada Hub (MR04, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar): This is the central hub for aspirants from Nanded, Latur, Beed, Parbhani, and Jalna — significantly reducing travel time for students from rural Marathwada.
