NIFT Situation Test 2024 Previous Year Questions

The NIFT Situation Test is part of the NIFT entrance exam conducted by the institute. This selection involves a step-by-step process:- a written entrance exam (GAT & CAT) followed by the situation test. Only students who qualify for the written part are called for the situation test. Moreover, the final merit is based on both these parts, so candidates have to appear in both. This situation test holds 20% weightage in the admission process. The situation test for the BDes course is expected to be conducted sometime in March 2024 in offline mode while the entrance exam will be held on February 5, 2024. 

Candidates who are going to appear for the NIFT situation test 2024 are advised to prepare with past year question papers and other study materials. The situation test is held to analyse the candidate’s communication skills, interpersonal skills, subject-matter expertise and approach to problem-solving, topic clarity and originality of ideas. NIFT interview will be based on the candidate’s general personality, subject knowledge, and skill.

NIFT situation test is taken to evaluate the innovative and creative skills of the candidates. It is an on spot design test to judge a candidate's practical skills. There is 20% weightage given to the NIFT Situation Test of the total weightage, CAT has the highest weightage of 50% and GAT holds 30% weightage.

NIFT Situation Test Questions 2022

NIFT Situation Test 2022 was conducted for the students who qualified in the initial rounds by clearing NIFT CAT and NIFT GAT  examinations. The question for the same is not available as the pdf has yet not been uploaded on the official website. We will update the same once it is notified by the concerned authorities. 

NIFT Situation Test Questions 2021

NIFT Situation Test Question paper for the year 2021 is not available as it could not be conducted due to 

COVID-19 pandemic. The candidates who appeared for the online test CAT and GAT were selected on the basis of marks scored by them on both the tests. 

NIFT Situation Test Questions 2020

NIFT Situation Test 2020 was cancelled in the year 2020 and hence there are no questions available for the same. The situation test for BDes was cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic that disturbed the education sector the most along with other sectors. The students were selected on the basis of their performance in NIFT CAT and NIFT GAT only. The aspirants must check the question paper of the previous year to get an idea about the type of questions that are asked in the Situation Test.

Why Solve Sample Papers & Previous Year’s Question Papers of NIFT Situation Test?

Solving questions from the sample papers and previous year's question papers of the NIFT situation test will be beneficial for candidates in multiple ways. They will become aware of the question paper structure, marking scheme, difficulty level of the test and type of questions. Both of these study materials will also help in enhancing the candidate's time management skills and problem-solving ability. So, all the students are advised to at least practice even a limited number of sample questions and questions from the previous year to be aware of what they can expect in the final situation test.

Candidates appearing for the NIFT entrance exam must note that if they want to do better in the Situation Test they must target solving sample papers and previous year question papers. Moreover, as the Situation test is particularly for the BDes course, it will judge students' creative skills and their ability to handle multiple materials to design a model in a specific situation using a limited set of materials. 

The model prepared will be evaluated considering certain factors such as innovation, creative approach to using a set of materials, construction skills, visualisation of space, colour scheme, finesse of the model, element composition and the entire presentation of the model. Candidates must be prepared that their model will be judged by the jury, present on the spot. The model will not be kept for future reference.
