PGCIL Recruitment through CLAT

Every year, the Powergrid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) conducts recruitment and selects candidates for the position of Executive Trainee (Law) through CLAT. The recruitment process for PGCIL through CLAT is based on the results of the Common Law Admission Test. In order to be considered for the admission process of PGCIL, candidates must meet the minimum eligibility requirements and prepare effectively for CLAT 2024.

The general notification for PGCIL 2023 has been released by the Power Grid Corporation of India Limited. Interested candidates are required to register for the CLAT exam in order to be eligible for PGCIL recruitment.

PGCIL Recruitment through CLAT 2024: Application Process

The PGCIL recruitment application forms are expected to be out tentatively in the month of May. Elucidated below is the step by step process explaining how to go forward with the application process.

Step 1: Filling up the Application Form

  • Visit the official website and click on the PGCIL recruitment application official link.

  • Select ‘Position’

  • A pop-up window will appear. Enter the personal credentials including the name, address, roll number, category, correspondence address, name of the parents, contact details etc.

  • Move on to the qualification and experience details and fill them carefully.

  • Click on ‘Submit’.

  • An acknowledgement number will be displayed on the screen of PGCIL CLAT Recruitment 2024. Note it down somewhere.

Note: It is essential that the candidates fill in the details asked in the form carefully and accurately. Any wrong or misleading information would result in the disqualification of the candidate. Also, candidates must fill in the same details in the recruitment form of PGCIL Executive Trainee (Law) and the application form of CLAT.

Step 2: Uploading the required documents

  • It is of utmost importance to upload the scanned images of signature and photograph in the prescribed format.

  • Upload the required documents including Post-Qualification Experience Certificate, Law Degree Certificate, Date of Birth Certificate, Category and Disability Certificates (If applicable)

Step 3: Make the Payment

  • Move to the fee payment page by logging in to the account using the password and login ID.

  • Make the payment of the fees through Credit Card/ Debit Card/ Net Banking/ e-Wallet.

  • Only after the application fees for PGCIL Recruitment through CLAT 2024 have been submitted and the receipt has been generated, will the application process be considered complete.

PGCIL Recruitment through CLAT 2024: Application Fee

  • The application fee for registration to PGCIL Recruitment through CLAT 2024 is INR 500. It is non-refundable and needs to be paid through online mode only.

  • PwD/ SC/ ST/ Departmental Candidates/ Ex-SM are exempted from the payment of the application fees.

  • The application will be considered complete only after the submission of the application fees.

PGCIL Recruitment through CLAT 2024: Detailed Eligibility Criteria

PGCIL prescribes the minimum requirements each year for the process of recruitment. Only after satisfying the conditions laid down by the Powergrid Corporation of India Limited, can the candidates fill the application form for the Executive Trainee (Law). If a candidate by any means fails to do so, his/her candidature is considered as invalid. Check out the detailed eligibility criteria below.

Educational Qualification:

  • The candidate must have cleared or qualified full 3 years LLB or 5 years integrated LLB course from a recognised Institute/University of India.

  • The minimum aggregated marks the aspirant must score is 60% in the LLB degree programme.

  • Candidates falling under the SC category are provided with 10% relaxation in the aggregate score in the qualifying examination. They can apply with the aggregated score of 50%.

  • It should be noted that candidates appearing in the final exam of the LLB programme (3 years or 5 years) can also apply for the PGCIL Recruitment through CLAT 2024 if they expect their result by 31st August 2024. Also, it is essential for such aspirants to have secured a minimum of 60% aggregated marks or its equivalent CGPA in the aggregate of all years/semesters up to the pre-final examination at the time of applying for PGCIL Recruitment through CLAT 2024.

Age Factor:

It is mandatory for the candidates seeking recruitment in PGCIL Executive Trainee (Law), to be not more than 28 years of age as on May 2024. Only Indian Nationals of the minimum age of 18 years and above are eligible to apply for the same.

However, certain relaxation is provided to candidates applying under reserved categories. Captured below is the upper age limit for each reserved category recognised by PGCIL.

PGCIL Recruitment through CLAT 2024: Selection Process

Mentioned below are the pointers explaining the selection process of PGCIL Recruitment through CLAT 2024.

  • The candidate applying for PGCIL recruitment through CLAT 2024, must appear for CLAT 2024.

  • Candidates are shortlisted for the interview and Group Discussion rounds based on the scores obtained in the CLAT 2024.

  • Only those aspirants shall be called for the interview round who meet the required cutoff of PGCIL recruitment CLAT 2024.

  • The group discussion round does not have any qualifying marks but the interview round does. The unreserved categories require 40% marks in the interview whereas the OBC (NCL)/SC requires 30% marks.

  • The final list of the selected candidates will be formulated keeping in mind the performance of the aspirants in the CLAT 2024, interview and group discussion.

  • The application process for PGCIL Recruitment through CLAT 2024 is only held through an online process.

  • Candidates are advised to keep the receipt and admission test hall ticket of PGCIL 2024 Recruitment through CLAT safe until the entire process ends.

  • The application fee is non-refundable.

  • Candidates shortlisted for the interview round are required to bring the following mentioned documents along with them for verification.

  1. Law Degree Mark Sheets/Certificate of all semesters/years

  2. Class 10th (High School) Certificate

  3. Post-Qualification Experience Certificates

  4. Category Certificate (Only if applicable)

  5. Certificate of Domicile of J&K (Only if applicable)

  6. Ex-serviceman certificate (Only if applicable)

  7. Latest Physically Challenged Certificate (Only if applicable)

PGCIL Recruitment through CLAT 2024: Cutoff

The cut-off is the minimum marks that a candidate must score in order to move forward with the process. If he/she is not able to match the cut-off released by an organisation/institute or college, he/she is not valid for the recruitment or admission process.

Applicants seeking PGCIL Recruitment through CLAT 2024 must meet the cut off released by PGCIL. The cut-off varies each year.
