ONGC is a Multinational Crude Oil and Gas Corporation of India. Oil and Natural Gas Corporation or ONGC releases the form for the ONGC recruitment through CLAT 2020. The application form released by ONGC is for the post of Assistant Legal Adviser E1 Level. To join ONGC as Assistant Legal Adviser (E1 Level), candidates first need to qualify the CLAT 2020 exam which was conducted on September 28, 2020. If a candidate does not meet the cut-off score as released by the ONGC, he/she would not be eligible for ONGC recruitment through CLAT 2020.

ONGC Recruitment through CLAT 2020: Application Process

ONGC recruitment forms are filled online and are expected to release in the month of May 2020. Candidates can apply for the ONGC recruitment through CLAT 2020 by following the simple steps mentioned below.

Step 1: Fill the Registration Form

  • The first and foremost step of applying for Assistant Legal Adviser (E1 Level) is by visiting the official website.

  • Click on the application link available and press the ‘Apply Online’ tab.

  • Fill all the essential information and credentials including CLAT 2020 Application Number/ Registration Number.

  • Click on the tab that says ‘Submit’.

  • Note down the acknowledgement number of ONGC Assistant Legal Adviser.

Note: Candidates need to ensure that they are sharing the same details that they have previously shared in the CLAT 2020 application form. They also need to make sure that while filling the application form, all the details filled are correct. If any information is found to be incorrect or misleading, the candidate will be directly disqualified from the recruitment process.

Step 2: Upload the Documents

  • After filling the application form, it is vital to upload the required documents. Candidates need to upload their qualification documents along with photographs in the prescribed format.

  • The uploaded documents are acceptable in both image format as well as PDF format.

Step 3: Fee Payment

  • Before moving to the fee payment option, preview the details entered. Go through it once to edit or rectify any possible errors.

  • Proceed to the fee payment option.

  • Fees for ONGC Recruitment through CLAT 2020 can be paid using SBI Bank Challan in an offline mode.

  • The fee is to be deposited in ‘ONGC Power Jyoti, A/C Number 30827318409 of State Bank of India, Tel Bhavan, Dehradun’.

  • After the fee is paid and is received by ONGC, the application is considered as submitted successfully.

ONGC Recruitment through CLAT 2020: Eligibility Criteria

ONGC prescribes the eligibility criteria for the recruitment through CLAT 2020. It is of utmost importance to meet the minimum requirements laid down by ONGC. If a candidate is unable to satisfy the eligibility criteria, he/she would not be considered for the further recruitment process.

  • The candidate must be an LLB graduate. It is essential that the aspirant possesses either a 3 year LLB or a 5 years integrated LLB degree.
  • The LLB ought to be from an institution or university approved by the BCI (Bar Council of India).

  • The candidate must secure at least an aggregate of 60% marks in the qualifying examination. 5% relaxation is provided to candidates under SC/ST/PWD. They can apply with aggregate marks of 55% marks.

  • If a candidate has passed the degree through Distance/ Part-Time/ Open/ Correspondence programmes, he/she is not eligible for ONGC recruitment through CLAT 2020.

  • If applicants have a work experience of a minimum of 3 years, they would be given preference during the recruitment process.

  • The applicants should take note that the maximum age limit for the recruitment is 30 years as of 1st January 2020. Reserved category candidates are provided with relaxation as displayed below.

ONGC Recruitment through CLAT 2020: Selection Process

The candidates willing to participate in the ONGC recruitment through CLAT 2020 are required to appear for CLAT 2020 and qualify the cut-off as issued by ONGC. Mentioned below is the selection process a candidate undergoes while applying for ONGC recruitment.

  • ONGC shortlists students on the basis of CLAT 2020 score for the personal interview round.

  • If a candidate meets the cut-off issued by ONGC only then he/ she will be called for the interview round.

ONGC Recruitment through CLAT 2020: Cut off

Cut off is the minimum marks that a candidate must score in order to get through the next round of the ONGC recruitment through CLAT. ONGC will release the cut-off for the year 2020 only once the exam is over.

The counselling fee of the unselected candidates is refunded after the completion of the CLAT Counselling Process. No information regarding the date of the refund day has been released by the Consortium of NLUs, however, it is officially declared that the fee will be fully returned soon after the counselling process.
