GATE Application Form Correction Process

GATE Application Form Correction: The GATE application form correction process was conducted by IISc Bangalore on its official website from November 20 to 24 . Candidates frequently make mistakes when filling out the application form. The examination authority conducts the application form rectification for such candidates, allowing the applicants to modify the information on the form. GATE Admit Card has been released on January 4 .

Latest: GATE Admit Card released

Following the GATE application scrutiny, the authorities released the GATE New Two-Paper CombinatioN on November 11, allowing candidates to add or edit the second paper subject. This facility could be used till November 17 .

The GATE application form correction will not be applicable for all the details.  Through application form correction, candidates can only change a limited number of details. Applicants must take note that a prescribed fee will be charged to edit their details for the GATE registration form. The candidates will only be able to make changes to the form after paying the nominal fee. The candidates will have to visit the GOAPS official website to perform application form correction.

How to Change/Correct GATE Registration Form

The student should follow all the mandatory steps to make changes to the GATE registration form. The students must make a note of the changes or errors which have to be changed or rectified. Then, the students can change the details furnished by following the steps mentioned below -

  • The student must visit the GOAPS portal. The portal URL is subject to change each year with the change of the conducting body.
  • The candidate must log in to the website using the Application Number, E-Mail ID, and Password which was created below at the time of fresh application.

  • After logging in, there will be an option to edit the form. The students can make changes to the form accordingly.

  • The candidates must note that the change in subjects and the examination centre (city) is chargeable. The candidates can change them by paying some extra amount.

  • After making all the changes, the candidate will have to click on the submit button to confirm the changes,

The candidates are suggested to take a printout of the newly generated (corrected) form for any kind of future reference.

Most Common Mistakes in GATE Registration Form

While filling out the form for the first time, candidates tend to make mistakes in certain sections in most cases. Some mistakes happen because of spelling mistakes and some happen because of any kind of website bug or not being able to understand certain things in the form. Some of the most common mistakes that happen take place in the following areas -

  • Name

  • Parents' Names

  • Address

  • Category

  • Date of Birth

  • Gender

Though it is advised to fill the form very carefully, if any mishap happens unintentionally, the application correction form comes into use. Candidates are suggested to carefully go through the correction process as they won't be allowed to make any more corrections after this.
