Step-by-Step ARC Reporting Process for MAH MCA CET 2026
Out of all stages in the MAH MCA CET CAP (Centralized Admission Process), the Admission Reporting Centre (ARC) process can be regarded as the most critical stage. The verification process has been streamlined by the State CET Cell for the 2026 academic cycle. Follow the steps mentioned below for hassle-free confirmation of seats:
Step 1: Check Your Provisional Seat Allotment
- As soon as the CAP Round allotment is made available, you are required to log in to the official mahacet.org portal to check your provisional seat allotment. Log in using your Application ID and Password.
- After this, you must download and print your Provisional Seat Allotment Letter.
- For the year 2026, it is crucial that you ensure that the APAAR ID and Aadhaar details on the allotment letter exactly match the information provided on your identity documents.
Step 2: Choose Your Seat Acceptance Option (Freeze/ Float/ Slide)
First decide the status of your allotted seat before moving on to the ARC. There will be three ways in which you can interact with the seat that has been allotted to you:
Auto-Freeze: If a situation arises that you have been provided your 1st Preference, the choice is automatically frozen. This is the final choice implying that you have accepted the seat allotted to you and are completely satisfied with the seat. Acceptance of the seat also implies that you will not participate in any further rounds of allotment. Hence, you are required to pay the seat acceptance fee and report to the ARC; otherwise, you will no longer be considered eligible for the seat and will be eliminated from the CAP rounds. You are no longer a part of the counseling pool looking for better options after auto-freezing.
Self-Freeze: You can choose this option if you are satisified with a lower preference and want to settle with the current allotment and do not wish to participate in further rounds to opt for a better college.
- Float: It is applicable when you accept the current seat allotted to you but want to appear for the next round to enhance your chances to opt for a high-preference institute. Acceptance of the current seat means securing the seat allotted to you but it also implies that if there is any availability of a seat in a college that is at a higher position on your preference list, you will opt for it. Thus, the seat currently allotted to you will be automatically cancelled if you are given a better seat in the next round. But if you fail to avail yourself of a better seat, you still have the privilege to keep the one currently allotted to you.
- Slide: You must go for this option if you are satisfied with the college allotted to you currently but wish to opt for a better branch, better department or course only within that same institute. In this case, you accept your current seat but also look for opportunities to shift to a higher-preference course only within the same college currently allotted to you. Note that, in the next round, you cannot opt for admission to other colleges, but will only be considered for better branches in the institute that you are holding at present.
Go through the following table to get a clear understanding of the steps mentioned above:
| Option | Seat Accepted? | Change Institute? | Change Branch? |
| Freeze | Yes | No | No |
| Float | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Slide | Yes | No | Yes |
Step 3: Accept the Online Seat & Pay the Fee
The online seat acceptance must be completed before visiting the ARC:
Pay the requisite fee to accept the online seat. The Seat Acceptance Fee cannot be refunded to the candidates. The fee is typically INR 1,000 for all categories and must be paid via the online portal.
Verification of your data needs to be done. You can verify your data through an OTP sent to your Aadhaar-linked mobile number.
Step 4: Physical Reporting to the ARC
After the completion of all formalities, you must go to your designated Admission Reporting Centre within 3–4 days or the window specified. Scrutiny or verification of original documents will be done by an officer against the scanned copies that were uploaded by you during registration. A stamped acknowledgment receipt will be provided by the ARC officer after the documents have been verified successfully. You must not leave without the acknowledgment receipt.
Step 5: Final Reporting at the Allotted Institute
You can only "confirms" your seat through the ARC process. Reporting to the specific college or institute is mandatory for securing the seat. The final step is to submit the ARC acknowledgment document, pay the remaining tuition fees, and complete the admission formalities at the designated institute.
