There is only one national-level entrance exam for MCA in India, i.e., NIMCET, which is acceptable for admission in NITs. Eligibility Norm 1
Candidates who have passed B.E or B.Tech are eligible for MCA admission.
Eligibility Norm 2
Candidates who have passed B.Sc in Computer Science are also eligible for admission.
Eligibility Norm 3 (Scrapped)
Candidates who have passed BCA are eligible for MCA admission. Some states offer MCA Lateral Entry (direct 2nd-year admission) for BCA graduates.
Eligibility Norm 4
Candidates who have passed B.Sc with Mathematics as one of the subjects are eligible for admission
Eligibility Norm 5
Candidates who have passed B.A/ B.Sc/ B.Com/ any other degree with Mathematics as one of the subjects in Class 12th are eligible for admission in MCA course.
MCA Application Form 2020

Candidates aspiring for MCA admission through any of the entrance exams must first register for the same by submitting the online application form. All the MCA entrance exams follow the online mode of application form submission, and the registration fee for the same must be paid digitally, i.e., by using credit card or debit card or internet banking. Some states do not conduct an entrance exam for MCA admission, and the admissions are based on centralized counselling. States like Rajasthan, Gujarat, Punjab do not have separate entrance exams for MCA admission,
For example, the Admission Committee for Professional Courses (ACPC) conducts an admission process for MCA course in Gujarat, and the candidates with or without CMAT score can apply for admission. 75% of seats in MCA colleges across Gujarat are filled on the basis of percentile scored by candidates in CMAT exam. A merit list is prepared on CMAT percentile. On the other hand, MCA colleges are free to fill 25% of seats under management quota. The candidates need to submit an application form to register for the counselling process conducted by ACPC.
You can directly apply for MCA admission in deemed universities. Some private/ deemed universities consider the merit of the candidates in Bachelor’s degree for admission in MCA, while some conduct their own entrance exam for the same. Candidates with a national-level or state-level entrance test score can submit the application form for MCA admission in various deemed universities.
For example, candidates aspiring for MCA admission in KL Deemed University, located in Andhra Pradesh, he/ she can either apply for admission through AP ICET/ TS ICET score. Candidates without a valid rank in any of these exams can submit the application form directly through its official website.
Apart from the process mentioned above, you can directly visit any of the private colleges and submit the application form for MCA admission. Private MBA colleges fill some seats in MCA course under management quota, and the candidates can aspire for admission.

MCA Admission Process 2020
The admission process for MCA course is different for entrance exams, centralized admission and direct admission. The details about all the categories of MCA admission process has been explained here.
For national-level entrance exam like NIMCET, the admission process for MCA course is based on the counselling process conducted by the conducting body, NIT Raipur. After the announcement of NIMCET results, the candidates need to register for the NIMCET counselling process. The various stages involved in the NIMCET counselling are Choice Filling and Seat Allotment.
Choice Filling for NIMCET Counselling: Candidates who have cleared the NIMCET exam will have to exercise the choices which means that the candidates need to select the colleges from the list of participating institutes.
Seat Allotment: Based on the marks scored by the candidates in NIMCET, seat allotment will be made. The candidates will have to download the seat allotment letter and report to the respective institute to confirm the admission.

Candidates who wish to seek MCA admission directly without entrance exam requirement can directly visit any of the private MCA colleges or visit the official website of the respective college to register for admission. The selection of the candidates for MCA admission in such cases will be based on his/ her merit in the Bachelor’s degree. If the competition for the direct MCA admission is high in various colleges, a merit list will be prepared and seats are allocated accordingly. However, most of the direct admissions in private MCA colleges are considered as management quota.
