Maharashtra B.Com Admission Eligibility Criteria 2020

The first step to apply for B.Com admissions in Maharashtra is to be familiar with the eligibility. Check out the detailed eligibility criteria for both B.Com and B.Com (Hons) admissions in Maharashtra below:

B.Com Eligibility

To be eligible for B.Com admissions in Maharashtra candidate must have passed the H.S.C. or equivalent conducted the different divisional boards of the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education.

OR

Candidate must have passed the HSC exam with vocational subjects/ minimum by the different Divisional Boards of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education.

OR

Candidate must have passed the class 12 the examination or equivalent from a recognised board.

B.Com Hons. Eligibility

Candidate must have passed 10+2 from a recognised board in India with Maths as a mandatory subject.

OR

A candidate who has passed 10+2 or equivalent examination from IB Board should be either an IB certificate/ DP awarded with 24 credits having passed 3 HL (12 credits) and 3 SL (9 credits) mandatorily from any stream.

NOTE- For certain colleges in Maharashtra there is an upper age limit for admission to B.Com (Hons.) The age of the candidate should not be more than 25 years.

Maharashtra B.Com Selection Process 2020

The selection of the candidate to the B.Com course in Maharashtra is categorised into Direct Admissions and Admissions through the Entrance Exam. Most of the B.Com colleges in Maharashtra provide admission on the basis of merit. Whereas certain colleges conduct entrance exams for admission to B.Com/ B.Com (Hons) course.   • Most of the commerce colleges in Maharashtra follow the Direct Admission Process for admission to the B.Com course.
  • Through the Direct Admission Process, candidates are selected on the basis of their scores in 10+2.
  • Once the class 12 results are announced, individual colleges release their merit list/ cut-off scores.
  • Candidates who have equal or more than the cut-off score, then they will be eligible for admission in the respective college.

  • Some of the commerce colleges in Maharashtra like NMIMS Mumbai offer admission to B.Com (Hons.) course on the basis of entrance tests.
