DTE Maharashtra Polytechnic Admission 2024: The Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Maharashtra State, will conduct the admission process for Polytechnic Diploma courses based on the candidate's Class 10 merit. The official dates and the complete schedule for DTE Maharashtra Polytechnic Admission 2024 will be released on the official website - poly23.dtemaharashtra.gov.in/diploma24. The DTE Maharashtra Polytechnic Admission process every year to provide admission to the candidates in the 3-year engineering diploma program. The eligible candidates are provided admission to the participating institutions based on their rank and availability of seats. The examination authority also releases the Maharashtra Polytechnic Seat Matrix for various participating colleges. The seat matrix consists of seat availability and the number of intakes for various colleges.

Type A

The candidate must have passed classes 8th, 9th, and 10th from a recognized institute.

The candidate must have acquired a minimum aggregate of 35% in the qualifying examination.


For direct admission to the second year, the candidate must have passed class 12th in the Science stream or class 10th with a certification in ITT.

The place for passing the qualifying exam must come under the jurisdiction of one’s district area

Type B

The candidates who don’t come under Type A but have parents having domicile of Maharashtra.

The place of issuing the domicile certificate must come under the jurisdiction of one’s district area

Type C

The candidates who don’t come under Type A and Type B but the parents are posted in Maharashtra government job at the current time of filling the application form.

The place of issuing the government post must come under the jurisdiction of one’s district area

Type D

The candidates who don’t come under Type A, B, and C but the parents are posted in Maharashtra government job at the current time or are retired from a Maharashtra government job.

The place of the last government post must come under the jurisdiction of one’s district area

Type E

The candidate must have passed class 8th, 9th, or 10th from an institute recognized and located under the Maharashtra border.

The candidate must be fluent in the Marathi language.

The candidates will be considered as an outsider from the Home district or for the state-level seats

All India

The candidates must be Indian nationals

Minority

The candidate who has a domicile of Maharashtra and comes under the SC/ ST/ OBC or other monitory candidates will be considered under this category

The allocation of seats for Maharashtra Polytechnic Admission 2024 is done on the basis of different categories of candidates. The seat allocation is done on the basis of guidelines prescribed by the Maharashtra government which will be allocated for the given below categories:

  3. Fill out the application form using all the required details carefully and click on the 'Proceed' button

  4. Submit all the documents including scanned photographs and signatures in the prescribed format

DTE Maharashtra Polytechnic Admission Merit List 2024

The State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra prepares the merit list of candidates for Maharashtra Polytechnic Admission. The merit list consists of the names of all the candidates who are eligible for the counselling process. The Maharashtra Polytechnic Admission Merit list is prepared on the basis of different factors such as:

Merit Number Assignment: The merit number will be assigned to all the candidates who have applied for admission which will consist of the number assigned on the basis of the eligibility of the respective candidates.

Change of Marks due to Verification: If there have been any modifications in the eligibility of the candidates, they must report it to the admission authority on or before the counselling process.

Method of Calculating Merit Marks: The following methods are used while calculating the merit marks for students on the basis of their eligibility:

  • The percentage of qualifying marks for the candidates will be calculated while rounding off the percentage to the nearest integer

  • If the total marks for any qualifying subject are other than 100, then the marks will be converted out of 100 and the fraction obtained will be rounded off

  • If the marks obtained in the HSC level of the candidate are in grades, then the candidate will have to submit the grade conversion by the respective board authority at the time of application

  • If the candidate has appeared for a re-appear exam, then the marks obtained by the candidate in the latest exam will be considered

Merit list for admission: The merit list for admission to various programs will be calculated on the basis of the percentage of marks obtained by the candidate in the qualifying examination with all the subjects put together.

Tie-Breaking Rule for Merit List: In case of a tie between two candidates while preparing the merit list for Maharashtra Polytechnic Admission 2024, the following factors will be considered:

  • Highest marks of the candidate at the HSC Level

  • Highest marks of the candidates at the HSC level for individual subjects (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry)

Maharashtra Polytechnic Counselling Process 2024

After the merit list for Maharashtra Polytechnic Admission 2024 is released, the qualifying candidates will be called for the counselling process. The counselling for Maharashtra Polytechnic Admission 2024 is conducted through the Centralized Admission Process (CAP) in various rounds. The candidates who qualify for counselling will have to fill out the counselling form and choose the option for the preferred institute through the official website.

Counselling for Maharashtra Polytechnic Admission 2024 is conducted in three rounds: Round I, Round II, and Round III. The candidates who fail to meet the eligibility criteria for Round I or miss the counselling process will be called for Round II and further for Round III under the same condition. The candidates will be allocated seats on the basis of their merit, reservation policy, and the choices filled by them. After the verification of documents and payment of the application fee, the admission process will be completed.

Stages for Counselling Admission Process (CAP)

The Centralised Admission Process for Maharashtra Polytechnic Admission 2024 is conducted in the following stages:

Stage 1: Through stage 1, the seats will be allocated to all the candidates based on the merit of the candidate.

Stage 2: Through stage 2, the seats will be allocated among the male and female candidates. The seats will be allocated to the male candidates if the seats remain vacant after being allocated to the female candidates.

Stage 3: Through stage 3, the seats will be allocated to SBC candidates. The seats will be allocated if they remain vacant after being allocated to OBC candidates.

Stage 4: Through stage 4, the seats will be allocated to religious groups of the OBC category.

Stage 5: Through stage 5, the seats will be allocated to all the candidates of the OBC category.

Stage 6: Through stage 6, the seats will be allocated to all the candidates with physical disabilities.

Stage 7: Through stage 7, the seats will be allocated to all the candidates who do not come under the reserved categories.

Stage 8: Through stage 8, the remaining vacant seats will be allocated to all the candidates who do not come under the reserved categories.

Documents Required for Maharashtra Polytechnic Admission 2024

The candidates are required to submit the following documents at the time of counselling for Maharashtra Polytechnic Admission 2024:

  • HSC level mark sheet

  • School Leaving Certificate

  • Character Certificate

  • Vocational Certificate

  • Photo Identity Proof

  • Passport-size photographs

  • Reservation Certificate (if applicable)

  • Domicile Certificate (if applicable)

DTE Maharashtra Polytechnic Seat Allotment 2024: Up-Gradation, Freezing/ Acceptance

With the allotment of seats, candidates are given the choice to either freeze and accept the allocated seat or upgrade the same in the subsequent counselling rounds. Here is a look at the two options:

  • Seat Freezing/ Acceptance - The first preferred seat allocated to the candidate will automatically be frozen and candidates shall not be allowed to participate in the following rounds of counselling. If the second or third preference is assigned, candidates will be given the chance to freeze their seats provided they are satisfied with the allocation. Candidates shall have to visit the Admission Reporting Centre (ARC) to confirm the seat acceptance. 

  • Seat Upgradation - Candidates who are not satisfied or may not have been allotted a seat will be allowed to participate in the next round of counselling to secure a seat of their preference.
