• Candidates who have a 10+3 diploma approved by the State Board of Technical Education or any other board/ university as considered equivalent by Nirma University with a minimum of 50 per cent aggregate marks are also considered eligible.

• The applicant must have scored passing marks in all the subjects of the qualifying exam.

The application process for BDes at Nirma University is completed in the online mode. Step 1: The candidates need to visit the official website of the Department of Design, Nirma University.

Step 2: In this step, they will have to register and make an account on the registration portal.

Step 3: After registering, candidates will be given unique login credentials through which they can proceed to fill the application form.

Step 4: In the application form, they need to enter personal and academic details whenever asked. All the entries must be done with utmost care and must be true.

Step 5: Once they have entered all the details that are asked in the form, they will have to save the information and pay the application fee.

Nirma University BDes Selection Process 2022

The selection process of Nirma University for the BDes course is carried out in several rounds. These rounds are as follows:

1. Round 1: Entrance Test (UCEED or NU-DET)
2. Round 2: Personal Interview

Nirma University conducts its own design entrance exam called Nirma University Design Entrance Test (NU-DET) but it also accepts the Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design (UCEED) which is conducted by Industrial Design Centre (IDC), IIT Bombay. The detailed selection procedure for BDes admissions at Nirma University has been explained below.

Step 1: Candidates will have to register and appear for UCEED or NU-DET.

Step 2: With a valid entrance exam score, they can participate in the selection process provided they clear the cutoff.

Step 3: The candidates who score more than the designated cutoff will be sent call letters inviting them for further rounds of selection.

Step 4: Post that, they will have to sit for a Personal Interview round.

Step 5: The Personal Interview of candidates will evaluate their aptitudes and interests, general awareness, quality of responses to social and cultural issues etc. Their ability to articulate their thoughts through creative work will also be assessed.

Step 6: It is not mandatory for candidates to present a portfolio during the interview but candidates may do so if they wish. In that case, they should limit their portfolio to a maximum of 10 works.

Step 7: During the interview, the candidate will have to present the necessary documents for verification.

Step 8: The final selection of applicants will be based on their aggregate performance in the entrance test, and interview. Separate weightage has been allocated to reach round.

Step 9: The final merit list will be released through which candidates will know the status of their admission.

Step 10: If their name is mentioned in the merit list, they will have to pay the admission fee and secure their seat.
