Also known as NIFT Bridge Programmes, the online NIFT courses were first offered from 2005 to 2014. They were extended for two years and were again offered from 2014 to 2016. NIFT temporarily stopped offering online courses, however, they made a comeback in 2019.
The online courses offered by NIFT are supplementary programmes that allow former graduates of NIFT to enhance their design Diplomas or Degrees. There are numerous online courses offered by NIFT and there is no upper limit for the seat intake. However, the eligible applicants must be more than 15, or else the course may not be conducted.
At the end of the programme, the degree will be provided for the year in which the programme was successfully completed by the candidate. The bridge courses at NIFT would be offered to the NIFT alumni who have successfully completed either an undergraduate or a postgraduate programme from the institute.

How to Apply for Online Courses Offered by NIFT
The application form for NIFT Bridge courses is released online on NIFT CMS. Here are some important pointers on how to apply for online courses offered by NIFT:
Candidates need to fill up the form, upload a copy of mark sheets and diploma certificate and pay the application fee before the last date.
The registration fee for the application form of NIFT online courses needs to be paid by RTGS/ NEFT/ IMPS/ DD and the information regarding the same needs to be submitted in the online form.
The application fee is Rs. 2,300 for the General/ OBC category candidates and Rs. 1,300 for SC/ ST/ PwD category candidates.
The registration fee is not refundable.

There is no set admission process for pursuing bridge courses from NIFT. Candidates would be shortlisted for admission to NIFT online courses as per the information mentioned on their application form. Applicants must fill the form carefully, completely, and correctly.
As long as the candidate fulfills the eligibility criteria prescribed by the institute, he/she is likely to get admission in the online course offered by NIFT.

Besides the bridge programmes, online courses are not offered at any other NIFT campus apart from NIFT Mumbai. The institute provides a 3-month-long short-term course in E-Commerce for Fashion Business (ECFB). Candidates can pursue the programme after completing class 12th in any stream.

There are a total of 23 Continuing Education Programmes (CEP) including E-Commerce for Fashion Business (ECFB) that are offered by NIFT. Due to the spread of COVID-19, some of the theory classes are being held through an online mode, however, as per the official website, practical or process-based sessions are likely to be held on the campus of NIFT after the pandemic ends.
