When two or more students receive the same NIFT 2026 results, the tie-break policies are applied. The tie-break mechanism then determines the final NIFT 2026 merit rank.
For the tie-breaking, the candidates with the highest weighted results for NIFT 2026 will be taken into account. For instance, to break ties in the BDes programme, CAT exam scores will be assessed.
NIFT 2026 results or marks from the GAT section will be taken into consideration if the CAT section scores are equivalent.
Marks obtained in the following subjects, in the specified order, will be taken into account after the CAT and GAT analysis: English comprehension, communication ability, analytical ability, quantitative ability, general knowledge, and current affairs. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has shared an important update about the NIFT Entrance Exam 2026. They will keep all exam-related records, like answer sheets and score details, only for 90 days after the results are announced. After this time, these records will be deleted as part of their regular record management. So, if you appeared for the NIFT 2026 exam, make sure to download and save your scorecard and any other important documents within these 90 days. Once this period is over, NTA won’t be able to provide any copies or information related to your exam results.
After the NIFT Entrance Exam 2026 result is declared, the NIFT authorities will prepare a merit list based on the final scores obtained by the test-takers. The NIFT 2026 merit list will be prepared based on scores obtained by the candidates in the written exam, CAT, GAT, Situation Test and Personal Interview round combined.
