LLM Admission at TERI University: Eligibility Criteria, Application Process, Selection Process

The TERI University conducts its own entrance exam for LLM admissions. The exam is held in the online mode and further interviews are held for shortlisting the candidates. The selected students are required to pay the fees and lock their seats before the deadline.

TERI School of Advanced Studies, also known as TERI University, was established in 1998. It was granted the ‘Deemed to be University’ status by the University Grants Commission (UGC) in the following year. Apart from doctoral research and the various postgraduate, diploma and certificate programmes TERI SAS also offers the degree of LLM with specialisations in Infrastructure & Business Law and Environment & Natural Resources Law. LLM admission at TERI University or TERI SAS is done on the basis of the TERI University entrance exam or the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) PG. To secure a seat in LLM at the university, candidates will have to obtain a valid rank in the entrance examination.

TERI University LLM Eligibility Criteria 2022

Only those candidates who have completed an LLB or BL degree can apply for LLM at Teri School of Advanced Studies. Candidates who are in the final year may also apply for the course and such candidates will be considered for admission only if they produce the qualifying degree/certificate by September 1, 2022.

How to Apply for TERI University LLM Admission 2022?

In order to apply for LLM at TERI University, interested applicants must follow the steps as under:

To apply online:

• Visit the official website of TERI SAS.

• Click on ‘Admissions’ mentioned in the navigation bar.

• Now, click on ‘How to Apply’.

• Click on ‘Apply now’.

• A screen will appear showing two options ‘Indian candidate’ and ‘International Candidate’. After selecting the former option, the candidates can click on ‘Proceed to Online Registration’.

• Candidates will be asked to upload a recent scanned passport size photograph with a white background. Size : Less than 100 KB and 2.5 cm x 3.5 cm (Formats: .JPG, .JPEG, .GIF, .TIFF).

• Pay the application fee through the online payment mode via Net Banking/Debit Card/Credit Card or via a Demand Draft, drawn in favour of "Registrar, TERI School of Advanced Studies", payable at New Delhi.

To apply offline:

• Download the application form (in word format) from the official website.

• Submit them by registered post/courier or directly at the Reception.

• Pay the application fee through a Demand Draft, drawn in favour of "Registrar, TERI School of Advanced Studies", payable at New Delhi.

Note: 

• This application process is not compatible with a mobile phone. One must fill the form on a computer and most preferably use Google Chrome (version 62 or above), Internet Explorer (version 11 or above), or Firefox (version 55 or above).

• Candidates must provide the correct Email ID and Mobile Number in the application form as all communication will be done over SMS and email. The same cannot be changed after successful submission. 

• Incorrect information or photographs will result in immediate rejection of the application.

• The registration number and other details will be sent to the registered email ID after submission of the form.

• Candidates must not fill the online application form twice as it might result in rejection due to duplication of records.

TERI  University LLM Selection Process 2022

Admission to the LLM programme at TERI SAS is made on the basis of an all-India online test and interview conducted at institute level. It is an hour-long exam comprising one paper with 100 multiple-choice questions (MCQs). The questions will be divided into three sections:

• Analytical reasoning

• Proficiency in English

• Quantitative ability

There will be negative marking for wrong answers. A written test and an interview will follow the online test, and the written test will be based on basic legal knowledge and legal reasoning.

TERI SAS also accepts CLAT PG scores for admission to LLM.
