Bangalore University LL.M Eligibility Criteria 2023

The eligibility criteria for Bangalore University LLM admissions in 2023 are given below. It is important to go through it carefully before applying for the entrance test. Candidates who do not satisfy the Bangalore University LLM eligibility criteria will not be permitted to sit for the exam and will not be considered for admission.

  • The candidate must have qualified for class12th.
  • It is essential for the candidate to have either completed his/ her LLB degree or be appearing in the final exams of LLB that year itself.
  • The candidate must have completed his or her bachelor’s from Bangalore University or any other university that is approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC).
  • The candidate must have an aggregate of 50% marks in his or her LLB degree.
  • If the candidate belongs to the category of SC, ST, Category 1 or is a differently-abled person, he/ she will get a relaxation of 5 per cent, that is, he/ she must have at least 45 per cent marks in his/ her LLB degree.
  • If the candidate belongs to a foreign country that is non-English speaking, he/ she must appear for TOEFL or any other equivalent exam along with fulfilling the minimum eligibility. The foreign candidates will be exempt from giving the entrance exam.

Bangalore University LL.M Selection Process 2023

The admission of candidates is done based on the merit cum reservation policy of the Government of Karnataka. The selection process of Bangalore University for LLM is done according to the rules and norms of the university and it depends on the performance of the candidate in the entrance test. The exam is conducted at Bangalore University’s Jnanabharathi Campus, in the PG Department of Studies and Research in Law at the University Law College. The exam is objective and has multiple-choice questions. The merit list will be made after considering the result of the entrance exam and the candidate’s marks in LL.B. It is mandatory for an individual to qualify an LLB degree before pursuing an LLM programme. You cannot consider LLM until you have completed the Bachelor of Laws. The duration of an LLB programme in Shah Khimchandbhai Muljibhai Law College is 3 years.
