TNEA 2020 - TNEA (Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions) is a centralized counselling process conducted by Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) Tamil Nadu for admission in B.E/ B.Tech course offered in various government and private engineering colleges across the state. Tamil Nadu B.E/B.Tech aspirants must register for the admission process conducted by TNEA in order to be eligible for the counselling process. In this article, the detailed application form filling process for TNEA has been explained.

The instructions to fill the application form for TNEA have been explained here stepwise -
Step 1 - Registration
The first step in the registration process of TNEA is online registration. The candidates will have to visit the official website of TNEA, i.e., www.tneaonline.in to complete the registration. After opening the website, click on ‘New User Registration’.
Details to be Filled for New User Registration
The following details have to be filled for the New User Registration -
Name of the Candidate (To be entered as per Class 10th Mark Sheet)
Class 12th Registration Number
Year in which the candidate has passed Class 12th
Login ID (Automatically Created) - The E-Mail ID of the Candidates will be the Login ID
Date of Birth
After submitting all the details, you will have to click on ‘Submit’.
What are the instructions to set a password?
The candidates must note that the password should have a minimum of 8 characters. The password should have at least one capital, one numerical and one special character (@, !, &, *, %).

Yes. You can modify the details entered in new user registration.
Step 2 - Generation of OTP
After submitting all the details mentioned above, the candidates will receive an OTP (One-Time Password) via SMS on their mobile, and the candidates will also receive an e-mail. Only after entering the OTP, the details of the candidates will be confirmed.
Step 3 - Login & Form Filling
The candidates will have to log in on the TNEA website by using their Login ID (E-Mail) and Password. The registration form for TNEA will be displayed on the screen. The candidates will have to enter all the details carefully.

The candidates will have to fill the following details in the TNEA application form -
Name of the Parent/ Guardian
Aadhaar Number (Optional)
Special Category Details
After filling all the details above, you will have to click on ‘Save and Proceed’.
Step 4 - Application Fee Payment
The next step in the application process of TNEA is registration fee payment. After completing step 3, the candidates will see three options -
- Payment Gateway (IOB)
- Payment Gateway (Indian Bank)
- Payment Gateway (Option 3 - Skip)
Candidates choosing anyone among the first two options will have to pay the application fee digitally, u.e., by using credit card/ debit card/ internet banking facility. Candidates choosing Option 3 will have to pay the registration fee at the Facilitation Centre. The candidates will receive a confirmation message after paying the registration fee.
Step 5 - Filling Scholarship Information
Candidates who wish to avail various scholarship schemes through TNEA will have to fill his/ her preference. The candidates will have to fill the following details -
Annual Income of Family
First Graduate Tuition Fee Concession (Yes/ No)
Availed First Graduate Tuition Fee Concession (Yes/ No)
AICTE Tuition Fee Waiver (TFW) Scheme
Post Matric Scholarship - SC/ ST/ SCA/ Converted Christians (Yes/ No)
After filling all the details, you will have to click on ‘Save and Proceed’.
Stage 6 - School of Study Information
The next stage in the application process is that the candidates need to fill the information pertaining to the School of Study (Class 8th to 12th). The candidates will have to fill the following details here -
Year of Passing
Name of the School
Stage 7 - Filling Academic Information
In this stage, the candidates will have to fill the academic information such as -
Class 12th Registration Number
Name of the Board (HSC/ Any other board)
HSC Group (Academic/ Vocational)
Group Code (Automatically Generated)
Marks Obtained in Class 12th
After entering all the above details, click on ‘Save and Proceed’.
Stage 8 - Filling Additional Information
Here the candidates can fill other details such as -
Center for Certificate Verification (TFC)
Preference for Choice Entry at TFC (Yes/ No)
Medium of Instruction
You will have to click on ‘Save and Proceed’ after filling the above details.
Stage 9 - Edit/ Save Application
As the candidates have already entered all the details in the application, he/ she can edit the same if any changes required. If all the information is correct, the candidates can click on ‘Submit Application’. The candidates will receive a confirmation pop-up. Click on ‘Ok’.
Stage 10 - Printout of Application Form
Finally, the candidates can take the printout of the application form. The candidates must note that the printout of the application form should be submitted at the Facilitation Centre (TFC) along with all the relevant documents.
