Total Number of Students Registered and Appeared in JEE Main 2025

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will release the data of registered vs. appeared candidates and the JEE Main results 2025. However, based on the media reports, a total of 13.8 lakh candidates registered for the JEE Main 2025 (January session) . Previously, a total of 12.31 lakh and 12.8 lakh candidates registered for the JEE Mains exam in the January and April 2024 sessions, respectively. The JEE Main 2025 is scheduled to be conducted from January 22 to 31, 2025, for Session 1, whereas the JEE Main Session 2 is scheduled from April 1 to 8, 2025. The complete details of the JEE Main 2025 registered vs. appeared candidates will be published on February 12, 2025, along with the JEE Main result 2025 . On the other hand, JEE Main City Slip 22025 has been released on the official website: jeemain.nta.nic.in on January 10, 2025.  NTA released a notification on January 16, 2025, stating that if a candidate's uploaded photograph is not as per the required specifications, they must update their photograph to not lose their candidature or rejection of the JEE Main application form. Registered candidates can make correction to the JEE main photograph section till January 17, 2025 (11:50 PM).

How Many Students Appeared for JEE Main 2025?

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will release the statistics for the JEE Main 2025 exam after it is conducted. The statistics will be available as a PDF on the official website: jeemain.nta.nic.in .  The statistics will comprise the data for the number of registered candidates, the number of appeared candidates, and the number of qualified candidates for the JEE Advanced 2025 and NITs/IIITs/GFTIs etc.

Previous Year Statistics for Registered vs. Appeared Candidates in JEE Main

Check the previous year's statistics for the number of registered candidates and the number of appeared candidates for the JEE Main exam. In 2024, a total of 25 lakh candidates registered for the JEE Main exam together for the January and April sessions, whereas a total of 17.91 lakh candidates registered for the JEE Main 2023 exam. Does the JEE Main 2025 have the Lowest Registration in History?

As per the media report on the number of registrations for the JEE Main 2025, it has surpassed the number of registrations from the previous year. It is approximately 13.8 lakhs for the January session; on the other hand, the registrations for JEE Main 2024 were 12,21,624, which is 112%. It is expected that the registration for April will be higher for the year 2025 in comparison with 2024.

The registration for the JEE Main 2025 was initially seen as low as compared to the previous year, and the reasons can be attributed to the festive seasons, changes in exam particulars, and long holidays. However, after the festive season and holidays were over, the registrations for the JEE Main 2024 boosted and surpassed the number of registrations from the previous year.
