NEET 2024 MBBS Seats in Government Medical Colleges are 52,778. In addition to seats intake of MBBS course, there are 27,868 seats for BDS, 603 seats for BVSc & AH, and 52,720 seats for AYUSH courses. As per the latest update, it is expected that this year, there will be a 10% rise in the seat availability under NEET UG 2024 Exam. Around 532 medical colleges will participate in the AIQ and State Quota counselling. 


Admission into the government colleges is solely based on the scores obtained in NEET UG 2024 Exam and the reservation policy. All India Quota (AIQ) applies to 15% of the total govt MBBS seats in NEET 2024, whereas State Quota applies to the remaining 85% of seats. The biggest number of MBBS seats are available in states like Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana, with an additional 5,200 seats in each. Through NEET UG 2024, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) is requiring a 10% reservation for economically weaker sections (EWS). Notably, there are no seats up for grabs in Sikkim, Nagaland, Daman and Diu, or Lakshadweep this year.
