Professional Entrance Examination of Jammu & Kashmir is responsible for conducting Jammu & Kashmir MBBS Admissions 2020. Compared to other states, Jammu & Kashmir does not have 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats. The state government has the right to fill 100% MBBS seats under state quota. Admission to the MBBS course is purely based on NEET-UG merit/ percentile/ rank. J&K medical candidates, who cleared NEET-UG 2020 and aspiring for admission, must have a complete awareness of the J&K MBBS Admission Process 2020. JKBOPEE has released the NEET 2020 Rank List.  The registration for J&K MBBS admission has started on 7th November 2020.  An official notification has released by the board stating that all the eligible students to submit their documents latest by 13th November 2020. The merit list for J&K MBBS admission 2020 has also been released.

The important dates for Jammu and Kashmir MBBS Admissions have been released. As of now, JKBOPEE has only released the registration dates which are as follows:

Jammu & Kashmir MBBS Admission Eligibility Criteria 2020

NEET Cut-Off Score: The applicants must have a valid NEET-UG 2020 score. The minimum NEET-UG 2020 qualifying mark for Open Merit/ Sports/ CDP/ JKPM categories is 119, while the cut-off mark for OSC/ ALC/ SC/ ST/ RBA is 96 marks.

Domicile Rule: Only the bonafide residents of Jammu & Kashmir are eligible for the MBBS course under 100% state quota.

Age Limit: Candidates who satisfy the prescribed age limit are only considered for admission. The lower age limit is 17 years as on December 31, 2020, while the upper limit of the candidates should not be more than 25 years as on May 07, 2020

Educational Qualification: Apart from the above, MBBS applicants must have passed Class 12 with Biology as one of the major subjects. The minimum qualifying mark in Class 12 for Open Merit category is 50% of marks, while for reserved categories, the minimum qualifying mark is 40%.

Jammu & Kashmir MBBS Admission Application Process 2020

Step – I: Professional Entrance Examination Board of Jammu & Kashmir initiates the online application process for the admission to MBBS course. Therefore, the candidates will have to visit the official website of the board to submit the online application. The application portal will be functional as per the dates prescribed by the board.

Step – II: While filling out the application, the candidates will have to fill all the details carefully. Filling the application does not mean that the candidate will get admission in the college as per his/ her wish.

Step – III: Along with the application form, the candidates will have to upload the following documents for document verification: -

  • NEET-UG 2020 Score Card
  • Class 10 Certificate
  • Class 12 Certificate
  • Category Certificate (if applicable)
  • State Subject

Step – IV: After uploading the above-mentioned documents, the candidates will have to report to the Professional Entrance Examination Board office for the physical verification of documents.

Jammu & Kashmir MBBS Admission Counselling Process 2020

Candidates who appeared for the physical verification of documents are only eligible for J&K MBBS Admission 2020, only names of these students will be included in the provisional merit list. After checking the provisional merit list, the candidates will have to take part in the online counselling process. The candidates must log in and complete the choice filling form. The candidates will have to choose the colleges as per his preference and requirement. After filling the choices, the candidates will have to lock the preferences so that they will be considered for the seat allotment.

Jammu & Kashmir MBBS Admission Selection Process 2020

Based on the preferences filled by the candidates, Professional Entrance Examination Board will release the seat allocation list on its official website. While allocating the seats, candidate’s rank, NEET-UG percentile, and the previous academic record will be taken into consideration. The candidates who secured admission will have to report to the college. Deposit the fee and confirm the admission.

Jammu & Kashmir MBBS Merit List 2020

After the document verification process, Professional Entrance Examination Board will release a provisional merit list of MBBS course. The provisional merit will have NEET-UG 2020 ranks of the candidates, their roll numbers, category, and gender. The top order of the merit list will have the names of the candidates with the est NEET-UG percentile.
