CG TET Paper 2 Child Development and Pedagogy Syllabus 2026 is set by the Chhattisgarh Professional Examination Board (CGPEB). The exam is conducted for the position of teachers teaching students of classes 6 to 8. To complete the syllabus, candidates will have to study different topics such as Development of Primary School Children, Inclusive Education, Learning & Pedagogy, and Children with special needs. Overall, 30 multiple choice questions will be asked from all the topics. The subject aims at providing the advanced knowledge to students and evaluating the understanding of child development, inclusive teaching practices, and effective pedagogical strategies. All the topics should be prepared in depth in order to answer the questions. CG TET 2026 exam is to be held on Feb 1, 2026. Unit 2: Dimensions of Development:	(a) Physical and motor development, development of physical control and coordination (b) Emotional and Moral development. Some basic principles: change in the body parts and their proportions, development of control (macro and micro), emotional development, moral development, (school and home environment, friends/peers, groups and relations with adults, social and cultural background of child development), personality development and socialization	7 marks
Unit 3: Learning and cognitive development:	What is learning and how do children learn? Review of different theories - behavioral, structural, and social concepts. What is Cognition? Views of Jean piaget on children’s thinking, construction of knowledge, schema, assimilation, accommodation, organization, equilibration, characteristics of adolescent thinking what is mental operation, development of thinking from early childhood to adolescence and its stages, sensory stage, Page 35 functional stage, pre-operation stage, concrete operation stage, formal operation stage, educational importance of Piaget’s theories, Lev Vygotsky’s theory, Zone of Proximal development (ZPD), Role of teachers in scaffolding. Child as a problem solver and a scientific investigator. Alternative conceptions of learning in children, understanding children's 'errors' as significant steps in the learning process. Unit 4: Children with Special Needs:	Children with Special Needs - meaning, defect, damage, disability, similarity in differences, working with differently abled children Knowledge and Curriculum - need of Curriculum, concept of Curriculum, concept of Syllabus, problems in Framing curriculum, criteria for the selection of curriculum, Right to Education Act-2009, role and responsibilities of teachers, child rights.	7 marks

The questions in the exam will be based on the Psychology and teaching-learning processes of children between 11 and 14 years of age.
