OTET 2021 has been conducted on April 9, and the unofficial answer key for the same can be checked on this page after the exam. OTET (Orissa Teacher Eligibility Test) is conducted by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) Odisha for the recruitment of Class 1 to VIII teachers in government schools across the state. OTET 2021 application form has been released by the BSE Odisha and the interested students can apply by clicking on the link given below -  However, OTET is merely a qualifying exam, and the candidates who clear OTET will get eligibility for Teacher Recruitment Test (TRT) conducted by the state government. On the other hand, qualifying OTET is also mandatory to work as a teacher for Class 1 to 8 in private schools across the state. OTET 2021 Admit Card (Out)

The 2021 OTET admit card can be downloaded from the official OTET Site or by clicking on the link below. The student will have to download the OTET 2021 admit card and take a print out of it. The students are requested to download the admit card before the date of portal closure.

OTET 2021 admit card will contain all the details such as Name of the Candidate, Exam Centre Name, Date of Exam, Time of Exam, Paper applied for and important instructions. It is better if the candidates read the OTET important instructions carefully. About OTET Exam

OTET is conducted to determine the eligibility of qualified B.Ed/ D.EI.Ed/ B.EI.Ed candidates for the position of teacher in government and private schools across the state. Candidates aspiring to become government teachers must clear OTET followed by the Teacher Recruitment Test conducted by the Government of Odisha. Eligibility Criteria for OTET 2021

As mentioned above, OTET 2021 is divided into Paper I and Paper-II. Paper, I of the OTET 2021 exam is applicable for primary school teachers while Paper II of OTET is applicable for Class VI to VIII teachers. The eligibility criteria for both papers are different. More details are elaborated below.


Eligibility Criteria

OTET qualification of primary teachers – Paper I (Category A)

  • Class 12 with 50% of marks
  • The applicants must have D.EI.Ed or B.EI.Ed with at least 50% of marks.
  • As per the new NCTE rules, B.Ed graduates are also eligible for primary teacher posts. Therefore, B.Ed graduates with at least 50% of marks can apply for OTET Paper I exam.
  • For reserved category candidates, there will be a 5% relaxation in the marks.

OTET qualification for Class 6 to 8 Teachers – Paper-II (Category B)

  • The applicant must be a B.Sc, B.Com, B.A, B.E/B.Tech graduate with at least 50% of marks.
  • The applicant must have a B.Ed degree with at least 50% of marks.
  • Candidates who have completed integrated B.A. B.Ed or B.Sc B.Ed are also eligible to apply.

OTET Application Form 2021 - Apply Online

BSE Odisha accepts only an online application form for the OTET 2021 exam. The online application process for OTET 2021 began on 19th February 2021. Eligible and interested candidates must visit the official website of the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) Odisha to register for the OTET 2021 exam.

How to Fill OTET Application Form 2021?

The OTET 2021 online application form filling involves different stages, and there is no confusion or hassle involved in the OTET 2021 online application process. The detailed application process of OTET 2021 can be checked below –

  • The official link to submit the OTET 2021 application form has been active on the BSE Odisha website from February 20, 2021

  • On the official website of BSE Odisha, the candidates must click on the tab ‘Examinations’ and select ‘OTET’.

  • A new page will open where the candidates must complete pre-registration.

  • During the pre-registration, the applications must enter personal details, paper applying for, Aadhaar number, mobile number, e-mail ID, etc.

  • The login credentials will be sent to the mobile number or e-mail of the candidate.

  • Now, login and submit the online application form.

  • Upload scanned copies of passport size photo and signature (signed with black ink only).

  • Pay the OTET 2021 application fee and submit the application.

  • Take the printout of the OTET 2021 filled-in application form and preserve it for future reference.

Documents Required for OTET Application Form 2021

Mostly, the candidates need to submit limited documents along with the OTET 2021 application form. All that the candidates need to upload is a scanned copy of passport size photograph and signature. The signature must be in black ink, and the passport size photo must have a plain background.

All the questions in the exam are Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ)-based, and there is no negative marking.

OTET Syllabus for Paper I & Paper II

OTET 2019 syllabus for Paper I and Paper II is different. The OTET applicants must strictly stick to the OTET syllabus prescribed by the BSE Odisha. The OTET syllabus for Paper I and Paper II can be checked in the PDF format

OTET Online Exam Procedure 2021

Candidates have to apply online on the official website of BSE Odisha. They will need to register by entering their personal details, upload a scanned photo and signature, and further add more details about their educational qualifications. Candidate can see the 'Preview of the filled Application' and then save and submit. After submitting the form successfully, candidates can take out a print and pay online. Exam fees for all categories would be Rs. 500 plus service charge and Rs.300 plus service charges as applicable for SC and ST candidates only. To check the “payment status”, the candidate will have to login after 2 days of fee payment. If the payment has not been reflected in the registration system, the candidate can send an email to to enquire about the payment status.

OTET Result 2021

OTET 2021 result is expected to be released within 30 – 45 days after the completion of the exam. The OTET result 2021 will be uploaded on the official website of BSE Odisha. The candidates must open the official website to check the results. In order to check the results, the candidates must enter the Hall Ticket Number/ Admit Card Number/ Application ID/ Date of Birth. The result will be displayed on a new page, and the candidates can download and take the printout of the OTET 2021 scorecard or result sheet. OTET 2021 results are expected to be out in the month of October 2021. Candidates who appeared for the exam will be able to check their OTET 2021 results on the website when they are released.

Selection Procedure of OTET 2021

There is no specific selection procedure for the OTET 2021 exam, as it does not involve any recruitment process. OTET is merely a qualifying exam. The candidates must clear the cutoff prescribed by BSE Odisha to clear the OTET 2021 exam. The OTET cutoff details 2021 is given below –

Only those candidates who clear the cutoff of OTET will be declared qualified in OTET 2018 exam. At least 20% of marks scored in OTET will have weightage in Teacher Recruitment Process (TRT).

The Validity of OTET 2021 Certificate

OTET certificate is valid for a period of five years from the date of the announcement of OTET results. The candidates can also appear for the subsequent OTET exam to improve their score. The candidates must preserve the OTET certificate issued by BSE Odisha, as the certificate is mandatory for Teacher Recruitment Test (TRT).

The admission dates for B.Ed at MLT College Sharsra have been delayed. The official dates for the admission process will be released on the official website soon. The candidates must note that the admission process is expected to begin in August or September. If you have already applied for Bihar B.Ed CET, you can also get admission through the counselling process.
