Board of Secondary Education (BSE) Odisha will conduct OSSTET (Odisha Secondary School Teacher Eligibility Test) 2018 in October. BSE Odisha has already released the official OSSTET 2018 notification, and the application process for the same has been initiated from September 10, 2018. Qualifying OSSTET 2018 is mandatory for the appointment as a teacher or a career as a teacher in any of the secondary schools across Odisha. Therefore, candidates aspiring to become teachers in secondary schools must clear OSSTET exam. BSE Odisha conducts OSSTET once a year, and the board accepts only an online application for the same. Result of OSSTET 2018

BSE Odisha has announced OSSTET 2018 results. The OSSTET 2018 results are released on January 07, 2019. OSSTET 2018 results can be checked on the official website of BSE Odisha or OSSTET. The candidates will have to enter the login details to check the OSSTET 2018 results on the official website.

OSSTET Answer Key 2018 Released

OSSTET Answer Key 2018 has been released for the OSSTET 2018 exam. OSSTET 2018 answer key will help the candidates to have an estimate of marks they can score in OSSTET exam. The answer key of OSSTET 2018 has the question number, question paper code and answer for the question. Candidates can check the answer key as per the code of the question key. Admit Card for OSSTET 2018

The OSSTET 2018 admit card was released on 27th September 2018 and can be downloaded from the OSSTET website (www.osstet.in). The candidates will have to log in and click on Download Admit Card link to download OSSTET 2018 admit card. BSE Odisha has released the OSSTET 2018 admit card for all those who successfully applied for the examination.

Eligibility Criteria for OSSTET 2018

General Eligibility: Candidates aspiring to appear for OSSTET 2018 examination must be the citizens of India and residents of Odisha state. Candidates from other states are not eligible to apply for OSSTET 2018.

Minimum Educational Qualification:

  • OSSTET 2018 aspirants must be able to read and write in Odia.
  • The applicants must have passed HSC examination conducted by BSE Odisha or any other boards such as CBSE/ ICSE with Odia as one of the subjects, i.e., First/ Second/ Third Language.
  • The applicants must have passed Class 12 examinations conducted by Council of Higher Secondary Education, Odisha. The applicants must have studied Odia as one of the subjects in Class 12.
  • The applicants must have passed Odia exam of HSC/ Class 10 (Single Subject Examination) conducted by BSE Odisha.
  • Candidates aspiring to become Hindi Teachers/ Classical Teachers (Urdu/ Telugu/ Sanskrit) must note that passing Odia examination of 7th standard conducted BSE Odisha is mandatory.

Academic and Professional Qualification: OSSTET 2018 examination is conducted for Category I and Category II teachers. Details about both categories are elaborated below.

Category I: TGT (Trained Graduate Teachers) in Arts/ Science/ Hindi/ Urdu/ Telugu/Sanskrit.

Category II: Physical Education Teacher (PET)

  • B.P.Ed/ M.P.Ed/ C.P.Ed from a recognised university or institute

Classical Teacher – Telugu

  • B.A. Telugu with 50% of marks (45% for reserved categories)
  • B.Ed Telugu from a recognised university or college

Classical Teacher – Urdu

  • Urdu B.Ed from a recognised university or institute and Alim with 50% of marks (OR)
  • B.A. Persian with 50% of marks and Urdu B.Ed from a recognised university or institute

Classical Teacher - Sanskrit

  • Shiksha Shastri (Sanskrit), a course prescribed by NCTE, from a Recognised University/ Institution and Bachelor’s degree with Sanskrit as the main subject/ optional subject/ elective subject. (OR)
  • Shastri - Sanskrit Degree with minimum 50% marks in aggregate (45% for reserved categories) from a recognized university and Shiksha Shastri (Sanskrit), a course prescribed by NCTE, from a Recognised University/ Institution

Hindi Teacher

  • Bachelor’s degree with Hindi as the main subject/ elective subject/ optional subject/ second language and B.Ed in Hindi/ Hindi Sikshyan Parangat from Kendriya Hindi Sansthan, Agra/ B.H.Ed course prescribed by NCTE, from a recognized University/ Institution (OR)
  • Bachelor’s degree from a recognised college or university along with Shastri (Hindi) from Orissa Rastrabhasa Parisad, Puri/ Rastrabhasa Ratna from Rastrabhasa Prachar Samiti, Wardha and B.Ed in Hindi/ Hindi Sikshyan Parangat from Kendriya Hindi Sansthan, Agra/ B.H.Ed course prescribed by NCTE, from a recognized University/ Institution

Trained Graduate Science – Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/ Chemistry, Botany, Zoology

  • B.Sc/ B.Tech/ B.E from a recognised university with 50% of marks (45% for reserved categories) and B.Ed from a recognised college/ university (OR)
  • Four-year integrated B.Sc B.Ed

Trained Graduate Arts

  • B.A/ B.Com with 50% of marks (45% for reserved categories) and B.Ed (OR)

OSSTET Application Form 2018 – Apply Online

Apply for OSSTET 2018 here at www.osstet.in. BSE Odisha accepts only online application for OSSTET 2018 examination. The candidates will have to visit the official website of OSSTET – BSE Odisha to submit the online application form. The candidates must note that they should furnish correct details in the OSSTET 2018 application form. BSE Odisha will reject incomplete or wrongly filled application forms. Therefore, the candidates must be careful while filling the OSSTET 2018 application form.

Application Fee of OSSTET 2018

Before filling the OSSTET 2018 online application form, the candidates must pay the OSSTET 2018 application fee. The OSSTET application fee 2018 is Rs. 500 for General Category and Rs. 300 for Reserved categories. Candidates can pay OSSTET 2018 application fee until September 17, 2018.

Before paying the fee, the candidates must register on the OSSTET website with E-Mail and Mobile Number. The account of the candidates will be verified through OTP that will be sent to the candidate’s mobile number. Later, the candidates must log in with E-Mail and Password and pay the application fee.

Candidates can pay the fee in online mode through Debit Card or Internet Banking. Candidates who are unable to pay OSSTET 2018 application fee online can download SBI E-Challan from the official website and deposit the application fee in any branch of SBI bank. After the application fee payment, candidates will receive a DU reference number.

The candidates must note that the scanned copies of the following documents must be uploaded along with OSSTET 2018 online application form: -

  • Passport Size Photograph
  • Signature
  • Caste Certificate (Only Reserved Categories)
  • PH Certificate (if applicable)

How to Fill OSSTET 2018 Application Form?

After the OSSTET 2018 fee payment, the candidates must proceed to OSSTET 2018 application form submission. The candidates must click on online application link to submit the application form. Once the online OSSTET 2018 application form is open, the candidates must enter the DU reference number. The online application form will have four stages: -

  • Declaration

Syllabus of OSSTET 2018

BSE Odisha has released the official OSSTET 2018 syllabus. Awareness on OSSTET 2018 syllabus will help the candidates to prepare for exam accordingly. The syllabus of OSSTET 2018 is as follows: -

OSSTET 2018 Cut-Off Criteria

Candidates belonging to General Category must score at least 60% of marks in OSSTET 2018 to be declared as qualified. On the other hand, candidates belonging to reserved categories must score at least 50% marks in OSSTET 2018.

Selection Procedure of OSSTET 2018

Candidates aspiring to get Secondary Teacher jobs in government schools across Odisha must note that only those candidates who had qualified OSSTET will be eligible for the Teacher Recruitment Exam conducted by the state government. The Government of Odisha from time to time may decide the weightage of OSSTET scores in the recruitment process.

The Validity of OSSTET 2018 Certificate

The OSSTET 2018 Pass Certificate shall remain valid until the candidate reaches the upper age limit prescribed by the Government of Odisha for recruitment of teachers. The candidates must note that there is no limit on the number of attempts a person can take for acquiring OSSTET Pass certificate.
