OSSTET 2021 application form has been closed and the admit card will be released anytime soon. For the General category, the minimum qualifying marks have been reduced to 45% and 35% for reserved categories. Qualifying OSSTET is mandatory for the appointment as a teacher or a career as a teacher in any of the secondary schools across Odisha. Therefore, candidates aspiring to become teachers in secondary schools must clear the OSSTET exam. BSE Odisha conducts OSSTET once a year, and the board accepts only an online application for the same. All the further details regarding OSSTET 2021 are elaborated on below.

BSE Odisha accepts only online applications for The candidates will have to visit the official website of OSSTET – BSE Odisha to submit the online application form or click on the direct link below. The candidates must note that they should furnish the correct details in the OSSTET 2021 application form. BSE Odisha will reject incomplete or wrongly filled application forms. Therefore, the candidates must be careful while filling the OSSTET application form.

Application Fee of OSSTET 2021

Before filling the OSSTET 2021 online application form, the candidates must pay the OSSTET application fee. The OSSTET application fee is Rs. 500 for General Category and Rs. 300 Reserved categories.

Before paying the fee, the candidates must register on the OSSTET website with E-Mail and Mobile Number. The account of the candidates will be verified through OTP that will be sent to the candidate’s mobile number. Later, the candidates must log in with E-Mail and Password and pay the application fee.

Candidates can pay the fee online mode through Debit Card or Internet Banking. Candidates who are unable to pay OSSTET 2019 application fee online can download SBI E-Challan from the official website and deposit the application fee at any branch of SBI bank. After the application fee payment, candidates will receive a DU reference number.

Documents Required to OSSTET Application Form 2021

The candidates must note that the scanned copies of the following documents must be uploaded along with OSSTET 2021 online application form: -

  • Passport Size Photograph
  • Signature
  • Caste Certificate (Only Reserved Categories)
  • PH Certificate (if applicable)
  • Class 10 Certificate/ Class 12 Certificate
  • UG/ Ed Certificate

How to Fill OSSTET 2021 Application Form?

After the OSSTET 2021 fee payment, the candidates must proceed to OSSTET application form submission. The candidates must click on to submit the application form. Once the online OSSTET 2021 application form is open, the candidates must enter the DU reference number. The online application form will have four stages: -

  • Education Details
  • Declaration

Eligibility Criteria for OSSTET 2021

General Eligibility for OSSTET 2019

Candidates aspiring to appear for must be the citizens of India and residents of Candidates from other states are not eligible to apply for OSSTET.

Minimum Educational Qualification for OSSTET 2021

  • OSSTET 2021 aspirants must be able to read and write in Odia.
  • The applicants must have passed the HSC examination conducted by BSE Odisha or any other boards such as CBSE/ ICSE with Odia as one of the subjects, i.e., First/ Second/ Third Language.
  • The applicants must have passed Class 12 examinations conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education, Odisha. The applicants must have studied Odia as one of the subjects in Class 12.
  • The applicants must have passed the Odia exam of HSC/ Class 10 (Single Subject Examination) conducted by BSE Odisha.
  • Candidates aspiring to become Hindi Teachers/ Classical Teachers (Urdu/ Telugu/ Sanskrit) must note that passing the Odia examination of 7 conducted BSE Odisha is mandatory.

Academic and Professional Qualification Required for OSSTET 2021

OSSTET 2021 examination is conducted for Category I and Category II teachers. Details about both categories are elaborated below.

Category I: TGT (Trained Graduate Teachers) in Arts/ Science/ Hindi/ Urdu/ Telugu/Sanskrit.

  • Shastri - Sanskrit Degree with minimum 50% marks in aggregate (45% for categories) from a recognized university and Shiksha Shastri (Sanskrit), a course prescribed by NCTE, from a University/ Institution

Hindi Teacher

  • Bachelor’s degree with Hindi as the main subject/ elective subject/ optional subject/ second language and Ed in Hindi/ Hindi Sikshyan Parangat from Kendriya Hindi Sansthan, Agra/ B.H.Ed course prescribed by NCTE, from a recognized University/ Institution (OR)
  • Bachelor’s degree from a college or university along with Shastri (Hindi) from Orissa Rastrabhasa Parisad, Puri/ Rastrabhasa Ratna from Rastrabhasa Prachar Samiti, Wardha and Ed in Hindi/ Hindi Sikshyan Parangat from Kendriya Hindi Sansthan, prescribed by NCTE, from a recognized University/ Institution

Trained Graduate Science – Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/ Chemistry, Botany, Zoology

  • / Tech/ B.E from a university with 50% of marks (45% for reserved categories) and Ed from a college/ university (OR)

OSSTET Answer Key 2021

OSSTET Answer Key 2021 will be released within one week after the exam. OSSTET answer key will help the candidates an estimate of marks they can score OSSTET exam. The answer key of OSSTET will have the question number, question paper code and answer for the question. Candidates can check the answer key as per the code of the question key. The official answer key of OSSTET 2021 can also be challenged. 

Result of OSSTET 2021

BSE Odisha will announce the OSSTET 202021 results within 40 days after the exam. Along with OMR sheets, results and final answer keys will be released. The results can be checked on the official website of BSE Odisha or by clicking on the direct link mentioned below. The candidates will have to enter the login details to check the OSSTET 2021 results on the official website.

OSSTET 2021 Qualifying Criteria

Candidates belonging to General Category must score at least 60% of marks in OSSTET 2021 to be declared as qualified. On the other hand, candidates belonging to reserved categories must score at least 50% marks in OSSTET.

Selection Procedure of OSSTET 2021

Candidates aspiring to get Secondary Teacher jobs in government schools across Odisha must note that only those candidates who had qualified OSSTET will be eligible for the Teacher Recruitment Exam conducted by the state government. The Government of Odisha from time to time may decide the weightage of OSSTET scores in the recruitment process.

The Validity of OSSTET 2021 Certificate

The OSSTET 2021 Pass Certificate shall be valid life time. The candidates must note that there is no limit on the number of attempts a person can take for acquiring the OSSTET Pass certificate.
