Do’s and Don’ts of WBJEE Counselling 2024: West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board will commence the WBJEE counselling 2024 tentatively in July 2024. Do’s and Don’ts of WBJEE 2024 Counselling
Every candidate must know the detailed process of WBJEE 2024 counselling in order to be aware of the do’s and don’ts of counselling of WBJEE 2024. The detailed process is mentioned below.
Step 1: Registration: The first step of the WBJEE 2024 counselling process is where candidates have to register themselves for the counselling process. The candidates need to visit the official WBJEE website at www.wbjeeb.nic.in for the registration purpose.
Step 2: Payment of Counselling Fee: Applicants have to deposit INR 500/- as the counselling fee via any of the available online payment methods. The candidates can submit the counselling amount through credit card, debit card or net banking.
Step 3: Choice Filling: In this step, the candidates have to fill in their choices and lock their choices from the list of WBJEE 2024 participating colleges and courses available on the website. The candidates must lock their choices in decreasing order of priority. Those candidates who fail to lock their choices before the given deadline will not be taken into consideration for seat allotment and counselling process.
Step 4: Seat Allotment for Round 1: Seats will be allocated to the candidates on the basis of their WBJEE 2024 marks and merit list. The seat matrix will be published on the official website on the same date.
Step 5: Payment of Admission Fee: Those candidates who will secure a seat in the first round of the online counselling procedure will be required to pay the online provisional admission fee. The provisional admission fee that the candidates will pay will vary according to the category of the candidates and Institutions. Details regarding the same have been given below:
- Open Category Seats (University Departments/State-Aided University/Pharmacy Colleges/Government Engineering & Technology Colleges): INR 5000/-
- Tuition Fee Waiver (TFW) Category Seats (Any Institute): INR 3000/-
Step 6: Seat Allotment for Round 2: WBJEEB will publish the number of seats vacant after the first round of seat allotment. Applicants will be allotted seats on the basis of their secured marks in the WBJEE 2024 exam.
Step 7: Final Seat Allotment Round / Mop-Up Round: The third round Mop Up seat allotment is applicable for those candidates who:
- Were not allocated a seat in the previous rounds
- Did not take admission after pating the seat acceptance fee
- Candidates who have not registered earlier
The third round of the seat allotment process or the mop-up round will depend upon the number of vacant seats after the completion of the second round of the seat allotment process.

New Changes in Counselling of WBJEE 2024
Applicants should be aware of the changes that are brought forward by WBJEEB for the WBJEE counselling 2024. The new changes are mentioned below.
- Aspirants having a valid score or rank in JEE Main or NATA will also have to pay a counselling fee of Rs 500 and register themselves for the counselling process
- Every candidate has to mandatorily register ONLY at the beginning of phase 1
- Candidates are required to enter their academic, personal and bank details during the registration process so that the refund amount (if any) is credited to their account
- Candidates should take note that all the necessary documents has to be uploaded in PDF format and any failure to do so will lead to disqualification of the candidate from the registration process
- Aspirants are required to be aware that the certificate verification process will be conducted in online mode (Virtual Reporting Centre) and they are not required to visit any reporting centre for verification
