Tips on Maximizing the Benefits of GATE Mock Test 2026

  • Take a full-length GATE mock test by dedicating a total of 3 hours to it. After 3 hours, stop and see if you were able to complete it or not.
  • If not, you need to work on your time management skills. Find out the reason behind your poor time management.
  • Was it because you were forgetting the concepts, and then you needed to restudy those topics again? Was it due to lack of memory of the formula, then you need to memorize them again?
  • Whatever the shortcomings you are facing while attempting the GATE mock test rework it.

Besides mock tests and previous year question papers, you must also practice with GATE sample papers , GATE test series, and important questions online. The competition level of the GATE exam is very high, so you need to get your hands on various practice papers. Previous year exam toppers highly emphasize attempting previous year papers, mock tests, and sample papers.

Revise Continuously

It is recommended that you set aside at least one hour each day for GATE revision. The GATE syllabus is huge and if you keep your revision for the last you will forget most of the topics. Therefore, revision and studies should go side by side. Do daily revision, weekly revision, and monthly revision for the GATE exam.

Regular revision helps you remember what you learned and understood the day before. This allows you to complete the full curriculum without forgetting anything of several months or weeks. In fact, many toppers agree that their entire preparation includes setting aside an hour every day, as well as approximately two days each week, for review.

You can prepare short notes, flashcards, and charts and use them for revision purposes. If you regularly forget any formula make it in a chart and paste it in your room so that you go through it.

Resolve Doubts

We are all aware that we must clear our doubts ahead of time rather than wait till the exam dates. Despite this, many of us continue to push our doubts aside in order to complete the syllabus and try to clear them all at once. That's not going to work. If you have any doubts while learning a topic, addressing them as soon as possible will help you better understand the concept. If you don't resolve doubts, you will not be able to understand topics related to your GATE syllabus.

You can resolve your doubts by asking for help from your teacher or mentor. You can research that topic on Google and YouTube, too. But, if you are facing too much difficulty in studying on your own, you should not hesitate to join coaching institutes for GATE 2026. There are various Best GATE Coaching Institutes in India , from which you can choose. These coaching institutes offer organized GATE exam preparation, revision classes, doubt classes, practice previous year papers, and mock tests.
