The year 2026 is expected to be one of the biggest recruitment campaigns in recent history based on the trends of vacancies announced in the previous year, as there are three large organisations that have posted thousands of open positions simultaneously. KVS/NVS/DSSSB Recruitment Dates 2026-27 (Expected)

KVS and NVS have nearly the same timeline, as CBSE has a common recruitment test for the two. The process of notification to final joining is about 8-9 months. DSSSB has a one-tier examination and operates on a time-bound basis. The process takes a duration of 6-7 months between notification and joining. Nonetheless, DSSSB does not publish a single advertisement per year, but several advertisements, so there is an opportunity at different times. The applications normally close 30 days after the application date mentioned in the notification of the KVS/NVS applications and 20 to 30 days after notification of the DSSSB applications. Missing these deadlines will result in waiting for one full year of KVS/NVS or a couple of months of DSSSB. According to the previous recruitment trends, the following are the approximate timeframes of each step in all three institutions:

Recent KVS/NVS/DSSSB Recruitment Trends 2025

The total number of vacancies announced in the combined KVS-NVS 2025 recruitment was 15,762, and it was the most significant central recruitment process in recent years. The official announcement of the KVS recruitment was made in November 2025. A total of 9,921 vacancies were announced in different teaching and non-teaching posts, such as PGT, TGT, PRT, Principal, and Vice Principal vacancies. Equally, NVS also posted its recruitment notification in October 2025 with 5,841 posts being advertised using a joint examination administered on January 10-11, 2026, by CBSE.

The 6,298 vacancies at DSSSB 2025 contributed a lot of jobs to the teaching recruitments in Delhi. According to DSSSB Advertisement No. 02/25 and 06/25 published in September 2025, 5,118 TGT posts had been announced in different subjects such as Mathematics, English, Social Science and Hindi. Then again, a total of 1,180 PRT vacancies in primary classes were announced in the Advertisement No. 05/25 of October 2025. The DSSSB TGT exam was to be held between the dates of March 2 and 23, 2026. The DSSSB PRT exams are scheduled to begin on February 16, 2026.

These figures show the size of opportunities in the future and set a trend of recruitment that a candidate in CTET 2026 is likely to foresee. The fact that the three large recruitments happened in sync indicates that the government was concerned with the teaching workforce empowerment in both central and state institutions. According to this trend, every 12-18 months, there are usually similar large-scale announcements, so if candidates have not yet been notified, they should be ready to receive such announcements for this by the end of 2026 or at the beginning of 2027.

Understanding past recruitment helps you prepare for upcoming opportunities. Here's what the latest recruitment cycle revealed:

Preparing for Upcoming KVS/NVS/DSSSB Recruitment Cycles

You must keep checking the official websites: kvsangathan.nic.in, navodaya.gov.in, and dsssb.delhi.gov.in on a regular basis. KVS provides pan-India postings with transfers, NVS recruits in residential schools in the rural areas, and DSSSB offers positions which are non-transferable in the city of Delhi.

The process of selection is the same: For KVS/NVS, the exam pattern is two-tier exams and an interview, and the DSSSB exam is a one-tier exam only. CTET is a compulsory requirement for all these recruitments, especially for the PRT and the TGT vacancies.

With my experience of guiding many aspirants for these exams and myself appearing in some of them, I can attest that 22,000+ vacancies in the year 2025-26 reveal a strong demand so far. The recruitment cycles are going on annually and semi-annually for some exams. This lifetime certificate in CTET will guarantee you an opportunity to be considered whenever new notifications come through. Be ready, keep checking governmental notifications, and make yourself even better prepared for the next cycle of recruitments.
