Seat Matrix 2022 at NLSIU Bangalore

The National Law School of India University, Bangalore (NLSIU Bangalore) is one of the best NLUs in India. The varsity has released a notification stating that a horizontal compartmentalised reservation of 25% seats has been introduced for Karnataka students. The seat matrix for BA LLB (Hons.) and LLM programmes at NLSIU Bangalore was revised in 2022 which the BA LLB (Hons.) seats were increased to 180 and a total of 75 seats were allotted for LLM. 

As per the latest addition made in the NLSIU Banglore Seat Matrix, a new category of 'Karnataka Students' has also been included for seat reservation. Aspirants who have completed 10 years of their education from the Karnataka state and have opted for NLSIU Bangalore as their most preferred college after registering for CLAT 2022 are eligible for admission under this reservation.

Benefits for the Fresh Category of Karnataka Students:

The NLSIU Bangalore has added a fresh category of ‘Karnataka Students’ and students residing in the state of Karnataka would be offered reservation in the desired course. Check the benefits offered to Karnataka students from the pointers mentioned below.

  • Candidates who have studied from a recognised educational institution in Karnataka for not less than 10 years shall be considered for the ‘Karnataka Students’ category.

  • Students falling under the domicile category will be preferred for admission at NLSIU Bangalore, for up to 25% of total seats available in the LLM and BA LLB (Hons.) programmes.

  • If a general category candidate is a student of Karnataka, he/ she will benefit with a 5% concession on the merit cut-off score (for general candidates) obtained in CLAT 2022. For instance, if the merit cut-off for the general category is 100, then for candidates applying from the Karnataka Students category, the cut-off lies at 95.

  • A relaxation of 5% will also be extended to other categories including SC, ST and PwD. A concession of 5% from the category-wise cut-off score will be awarded to the domicile category students.

Revised NLSIU Bangalore Seat Matrix for 5-Year BA LLB (Hons) 2022

The total intake capacity for the 5-year BA LLB (Hons) is 180 for the 2022-23 session. The below table depicts the revised seat matrix percentage for the 5-Year BA LLB (Hons) program as notified by NLSIU Bangalore.
