Special OJEE 2023: Special OJEE 2023 exam or OJEE Phase 2 was held from June 26 to June 30, 2023, in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode for a duration of 1 hour.  The Special OJEE 2023 or otherwise known as OJEE Phase 2 is a state-level entrance exam conducted by the Odisha Joint Entrance Examination Board (OJEEB) post-round 1 conselling process for those candidates who could not appear for the Phase 1 OJEE exam. The special OJEE 2023 result has been declared. The 2nd special OJEE 2023 exam is conducted to provide admissions into B.Tech, LE-Tech (Diploma), MBA, MCA, and B. Pharms in the fields of engineering, pharmacy, management, computer applications, and many more. Candidates who have appeared in JEE Main 2023 exam or OJEE Phase 1 exam for other courses are not required to appear in the 2nd / Special OJEE. LATEST: OJEE 2023 Seat Allotment Result of Round 1 will be released on July 25, 2023.

What is Special OJEE 2023?

Special OJEE, also known as OJEE Phase 2 or Second OJEE, is an exam conducted by the State Government of Odisha for candidates who couldn't appear for OJEE Phase 1. The registration for Special OJEE begins after the successful completion of OJEE Phase 1 counselling. This exam fills up the remaining vacant seats in colleges that accept OJEE scores. The courses offered through Special OJEE include Lateral Entry B.Tech, B.Pharma, B.Tech, MBA, MCA, and Lateral Entry MCA. The allocation of seats is based on the number of vacant seats available for the specified Special OJEE courses in the respective colleges.  While non-Odisha residents are eligible for private colleges, government colleges are reserved only for residents of Odisha. Those who secured ranks in OJEE or JEE Main need not appear for Special OJEE.

The application process for Special OJEE is similar to that of OJEE Phase 1, but the registration period is shorter. The registration applications for Special OJEE opened on June 1, 2023, and candidates need to follow the given instructions to complete the application form. Here are the steps to fill out the application form of OJEE (Special)

  • Go to the official website and register as a fresh candidate for the Special OJEE examination.
  • Look for the notification for Special OJEE or 2nd OJEE on the website's homepage and click on it to start the application process.
  • After signing up, save the password for future use and log in to fill in all the necessary details carefully.
  • Cross-check all the filled-in information before proceeding forward.
  • Complete the payment process for the Special OJEE application.
  • Save the application and take printouts of the form for future use, as it will be required for the Special OJEE counselling process.

Special OJEE 2023 Eligibility Criteria

The Special OJEE Examination does not have any specific eligibility criteria, but candidates who have already appeared for OJEE Phase 1 are not eligible to apply for Special OJEE. The eligibility criteria of Special OJEE are as follows:

  • Only candidates with Odisha domicile are eligible for Special OJEE.
  • Candidates should not have appeared for the OJEE Phase 1 exam in the same year.
  • Candidates must be Indian nationals
  • Candidates should have passed their 12th Class examination
  • There is no upper age limit for OJEE candidates, except for the B.Tech Marine Engineering course, where candidates should not be above 22 years old
  • Candidates must have studied Physics, Mathematics, and one Language subject in their 12th Class
  • Candidates must have scored a minimum of 45% aggregate marks in their 12th Class to be eligible for Special OJEE/OJEE examination

The special OJEE exam pattern has a total of 120 multiple-choice questions; the examination is conducted online. There are a total of four sections in the Special OJEE exam pattern.

Tech rank holders/ JEE main rank holders not registered earlier. The last date to complete special OJEE 2023 counselling registration and choice locking is August 5, 2023. Candidates who meet the cutoff requirements will be eligible for the counselling process. During the counselling process, candidates will be able to select their preferred colleges and courses based on their ranks and availability of seats. The counselling process will be conducted in multiple rounds until all the seats are filled. Candidates must attend the counselling process in person and carry all the necessary documents for verification purposes.Once the seat is allotted, candidates will have to complete the admission formalities and pay the admission fees to secure their seat in the college. It is important for candidates to stay updated with the counselling schedule and guidelines to avoid missing any important deadlines or procedures.
