The Directorate of Medical Education, operating under the Department of Health & Family Welfare of West Bengal Government will be overseeing the admission processes to the Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm) course in the state. Admissions to the 2-year diploma programme will be based on a centralised process outlined by the Government of West Bengal.
The West Bengal D.Pharm admissions 2020, which will be organised by the WB Health and Welfare Department will be applicable to the Government Institute of Pharmacy Kalyani. Therefore, any candidate who wishes to pursue the 2-year programme at the institute must follow the guidelines that have been mentioned below.

As per the guidelines outlined by the Government West Bengal, all aspirants must qualify the West Bengal D.Pharm eligibility criteria 2020, as defined below.
Passed Class 12 Board Examination from a recognised board of education
Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Mathematics
Lower Limit - 17 Years (as on 1st June 2020)
Upper Limit - 30 Years (as on 1st June 2020)
Students Residing in West Bengal for a minimum of 10 Years continuously as on June 1st, 2020
Parents who permanently live in West Bengal or have Permanent Addresses in the State
West Bengal D.Pharm Application Process 2020
The aspirants who meet all the eligibility criteria for admissions to the diploma programme will be able to complete the West Bengal D.Pharm admission application process 2020. The WB Government has outlined that all application forms are to be submitted in Online Mode, at the official website of WB Health and Family Welfare, i.e. wbhealth.gov.in. Here are the steps you need to follow to complete the application process for WB D.Pharm admissions 2020.
On the stipulated date and time, you, an aspirant, must visit the official website and click on the Online Application Form Link provided on the page.
You will be directed to another page, where you will be required to enter the necessary details requested by the website. Ensure that all the details that have been entered are correct and complete to your knowledge.
Once all the details have been entered and submitted, candidates will be asked to pay the WB D.Pharm application fee (as defined below), via a DD.

In order to complete the application process, all candidates must complete the payment towards the WB D.Pharm admission application form 2020. The application fee for WB D.Pharm admissions 2020 will be as per the following table.

West Bengal D.Pharm Selection Process 2020
All the candidates who successfully complete the application process, they will be called for the respective WB D.Pharm selection process 2020. The guidelines cite that the admissions will be made on the merit of the candidates alone. Admissions will be conducted via counselling sessions. Here is how the prospective students will be selected for admissions to the 2-year diploma programme.
All candidates will go through a shortlisting process based on the marks obtained by them in the qualifying exam, i.e. the Class 12 board examination. Candidates must ensure that they have individually cleared all the theory and practical examination of each subject, i.e. Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Mathematics.
The Government of West Bengal will then release a merit list with the names of the candidates and their ranks. These ranks will be used during the counselling process for the purpose of providing admissions to the meritorious students.
Once the merit lists have been released, the affiliated institutes will then conduct the counselling session for 2020 D.Pharm admissions in West Bengal.
West Bengal D.Pharm Merit Lists 2020
All candidates who have applied for D.Pharm admissions in the government pharmacy institutes must wait for the WB D.Pharm Merit Lists 2020. Thes merit lists will contain the names of all candidates who have applied for and have been shortlisted for the admission to the D.Pharm courses. The merit lists will contain the names of the candidates in descending order, created on the basis of the marks they obtained in the qualifying exam.
West Bengal D.Pharm Counselling Process 2020
Following the subsequent release of the merit lists for D.Pharm admission, the WB D.Pharm counselling process 2020 will commence. There are three participating colleges, viz., Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri, Institute of Pharmacy Kalyani, Institute of Pharmacy Bankura, who would be allocating seats to prospective students. Here are the steps that would be followed during the D.Pharm counselling process in West Bengal for 2020 admissions.
Candidates are required to visit the respective colleges and present the necessary documents such as the application forms, Domicile certificates, physical fitness certificates, mark sheets, photographs, etc.
Each candidate will go through a document verification process in the order of the ranks obtained by the applicants and reservation quota, till all the seats have been assigned
Candidates will also be required to sign in the attendance sheet on the stipulated date and time of the 1st round of counselling. Candidates who fail to sign in will not be considered for the counselling process. Signed-in candidates will be called for 2nd round of counselling processes as well if seats are left vacant.
Documents Needed for West Bengal D.Pharm Counselling Process 2020
On the day of the 1st Counselling session, all candidates are required to appear at the counselling centre with the appropriate original documents and one photocopy of each document. Here is the list of the documents needed for West Bengal D.Pharm counselling process 2020.
Hard Copy of Application Form, downloaded from the official website.
Residential or Domicile Certificate issued and signed by the Competent Authority.
Medical fitness (Mental and Physical) certificate, issued by a registered MBBS graduated medical practitioner.
Eye Certificate issued by a registered eye specialist, proving the absence of colour blindness and the acumen of vision.
Two Self-Attested copies of proof of Date of Birth, i.e. Birth Certificate or Class 10 (Madhyamik) Admit Card along with the original documents.
Two Self-Attested copies of the Class 12 mark sheet or the equivalent exam.
Three recent stamp-sized colour photographs of the candidate.
If applicable, the appropriate reservation certificate issued by the competent authority.
For PwD candidates, self-attested copy of PwD certificate, 2 passport-size photographs, proof of age should be brought to the Medical Officer-In-Charge of Central Medical Board at Kolkata Medical College.
Note: Candidates are advised to bring the original documents of all the photocopied documents for Document Verification Process.
