I appeared in GATE/CEED for two consecutive years ? Just indicate your current years GATE/CEED registration number in the form, the higher score of the two scores will be considered.
What documents do I need to bring with me? You need to bring all your original certificates (higher secondary onwards) and CEED score card, testimonials with Xeroxed attested copies of each. If you have completed your final examination but waiting for results, you should bring a certificate from your Principal/Registrar of your Institute to that effect.
What is the interview like in CEED? There will be about 3 or 4 faculty members of IDC and you will be given an opportunity to present design related initiatives and creative work done by you. This could include earlier student projects or professional works. The interviews are conducted in an amicable atmosphere and there may be questions about your future plans, your background, your portfolio, your strengths and weaknesses and your aptitude to design, creativity and openness to new ideas, etc.
How can I best present my work in CEED EXAM? You can compile some selected works of yours into a folder with actual printed materials, photographs, samples etc. If you have large paintings or artworks, take photographs of them instead of bringing the originals all the way to Mumbai. You can also bring slides, CD or Video of your work (but remember, the time for presentation/interview will have to be within 10-15 minutes).
What is the basis for selection In CEED? The admission committee decides your admission on overall criteria of your previous academic performance, work experience, performance in design test, and performance in interview, portfolio and CEED scores.
What if I have applied for both the programmes in CEED? If you have applied for both the programmes (ID and VC), you will have to appear for both the tests in ID and VC. You will be interviewed for each of the programmes separately. You should bring examples of your work reflecting your capabilities for both the programmes.
I want to make use of the best score out of the two, but current year's result is awaited. What should I do? Just indicate your current years GATE/CEED registration number in the form, the higher score of the two scores will be considered.
What documents are needed for DAT and interview? Candidates called for aptitude test and interview should bring with them originals of all transcripts (marks card from SSLC or equivalent onwards, degree certificate of the qualifying examination, etc) and produce them before the interview committee, failing which, they will not be interviewed. Candidates belonging to SC/ST category should bring original caste certificate, issued by the competent authority for purposes of verification. Candidates belonging to Physically Handicapped and Kashmiri- Migrants should produce the original of the appropriate certificate, issued as per Government of India rules.
I am awaiting results of qualifying degree. Can I get admission? By the time of joining, candidates should have completed all the requirements for the award of qualifying degree including all examinations, dissertation project, viva-voce etc. Candidates who are awaiting results but completed all the formalities for the award of degree should produce at the time of joining, a course-completion certificate, issued by the Head of the institution. Such candidates will be given only provisional admission which will be regularized on their producing all the mark sheets and (original, or provisional)
