Candidates must fulfill the eligibility criteria to take admission to any one of the preferred distance law courses offered by the NLSIU, Bangalore. Those candidates who do not fulfill the eligibility requirements cannot apply for any of the distance law programmes offered by the National Law School of India University, Bangalore.

As per the information available on the NLSIU’s official website, the eligibility criteria for all the distance law programmes covered under PACE (Professional And Continuing Education), except for the online Certificate in Foundations for a Legal Education course, are the same. NLSIU Bengaluru Distance Law Courses Admission 2023: Important Instructions

A few of the cardinal guidelines related to the National Law School of India University’s distance law courses that must be followed by every interested student who would like to enroll in any one of the distance law programmes offered by NLSIU, Bangalore are mentioned below:

  • Only Demand Drafts payable to NLSIU DED courses and drawn in Bengaluru may be used for all payments.
  • Applications that are not complete may be rejected.
  • The mail must be addressed to The Director, Distance Education Department (DED), National Law School of India University, Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru - 560242 (Old Pin - 560072) and clearly indicate the name of the course being sought for 
  • Candidates will receive an ID number after enrolling, which must be used in any further correspondence with the university.
  • Once the admission process is complete, candidates are not permitted to modify their courses.
  • Only at NLSIU in Bengaluru will contact classes be held, and attendance is optional.
  • The candidate is needed to present an equivalence certificate issued by the association of Indian Universities with regard to foreign degrees.
  • There will be exams (annual and supplementary) in cities like Bangalore, Delhi, Kolkata, and Pune.
  • If there is a chance that two courses may overlap in the examination (i.e., June or December/ January), candidates are encouraged to pick one of them for the first exam and the other course for the second.

The candidates must keep the following things in mind regarding the documents submission for admission to any of the NLSIU’s distance law programmes.

  • After the university's final deadline, no incomplete registration applications or requests for admission are processed.

Is it possible for an applicant to enroll in more than one NLSIU’s distance law programmes at once?

By submitting a separate application for each programme, candidates are allowed to register for multiple programmes at once. Candidates will need to select which programme they will take the class or exam for if there is a scheduling problem between two programmes that have an exam at the same time. The test for the other programme may be taken during the following testing period.
 

Am I supposed to upload any documents during the NLSIU’s distance law course’s application process?

Students must submit a copy of their undergraduate degree certificate that has been attested by a Gazetted Officer or notarized by a notary. (Self-attestation standards, however, call for the final stage production of the original papers. Since you did not present the original in this instance, attestation from a gazetted authority or a notary is necessary.

Is there any refund allowed before the NLSIU’s distance law courses’ admission deadline?

According to the National Law School of India University policies, if a withdrawal is requested before the application deadline, the money (if paid) will be repaid after subtracting 30% of the amount for processing fees. The Rs. 1500 application fee and the Rs. 2500 admission fee are not refundable. We won't be able to reimburse the fee for the programme to be reimbursed after the application deadline.

How long does it take a student to finish the NLSIU’s distance law programme?

The duration it takes to finish each distance law course is different and is as follows:

For MBL programme: From the year of enrollment, students have up to eight years to finish their programme. At the time of admission, students are expected to pay the prescribed fee. If a student has to continue the programme after the second academic year due to non-compliance with the requirements for the degree, they may do so for the following three academic years or until all programme requirements have been satisfied, whichever comes first, by paying the prescribed continuation fee for each year.

If, after five years, the student is still unable to complete the programme, they may be granted an additional three years' extension by paying Rs. 5000 per year for the following three years' extension fee, provided they have successfully completed at least five of the ten courses in the MBL programme overall. If the student cannot complete all of the prerequisites for the degree award before the end of the eighth academic year, the admission is automatically revoked.

For postgraduate diploma programmes: From the year of enrollment, students have up to five years to finish their programme. During the time of admission, students are expected to pay the prescribed fee. If a student has to continue the programme for longer than one academic year due to failure to meet the requirements for the award of the diploma, they may do so for the next two academic years by paying the appropriate continuation fee for each year.

In the event that a student takes three years to complete a programme but is unable to do so, they may be granted an additional two years by paying an extension fee of Rs. 5,000 per year for the following two years, providing they have passed two of the four courses in a diploma programme. If the student is unable to satisfy the prerequisites for the award of the diploma by the end of the fifth academic year, the admission is automatically revoked.

According to the sources, Amity University Mumbai academic session for 2023-24 will begin on September 1, 2023. The classes will be conducted in a full-time regular mode. The exact dates for the commencement of classes for each course will be announced later.

For Admission in the MGKVP L.L.B course, you will be required to check the cutoff of the recent year or if it is not released, you can check the previous year's cutoff for reference. MGKVP L.L.B course admission for the general category will be totally based on the cutoff.
