CSAB Counselling 2026 allows students who missed or didn’t get their preferred seats in JoSAA to participate in seat allocation for NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs. The process includes registration, choice filling, and multiple rounds of seat allocation.

CSAB Counselling Registration 2026

CSAB counselling, conducted by the Central Seat Allocation Board , is a special admission process held after the regular JoSAA counselling rounds based on JEE Main, aimed at filling vacant seats in NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs; eligible candidates must register separately, fill and lock fresh choices of colleges and branches, and participate in one or more special rounds where seats are allotted according to rank, category, and preferences, after which they need to pay the required fee and confirm admission, making it a valuable second opportunity for students who either did not secure a seat or want a better option after JoSAA.
The CSAB counselling registration 2026 will be conducted online for all the channels, i.e., CSAB NEUT (North-Eastern states and Union Territories), CSAB UT (supernumerary seats in the Union Territories), and CSAB SFTI (Self-financed technical institutes), separately. Candidates who wish to participate in the CSAB 2026 Seat Allotment process will be required to register for the CSAB 2026. Check out the details regarding the various aspects of CSAB counselling registration in the sections below.

CSAB Registration 2026: Is registration mandatory for JoSAA registered candidates?

No. CSAB registration is compulsory for the JoSAA 2026 registered candidates who have accepted a seat and paid the required fee. However, if any candidate wants to participate in the CSAB special rounds for the leftover seats after JoSAA, they are required to register separately on the CSAB portal. CSAB conducts special rounds to fill vacant seats at IIITs, NITs, and GFTIs after the JoSAA rounds. Candidates who are satisfied with their JoSAA 2026 seat allotment and do not wish to participate in the CSAB counselling process are not required to register for CSAB. Even if a candidate has registered with JoSAA 2026, they are required to register again on the CSAB portal for the special rounds.

Dear Student,

It is hard to say whether you'll get CSE at SASTRA University with a 978 in intermediate and a 92.5 percentile in JEE Main, as admission is competitive. SASTRA uses a combined score of 75% of your 12th marks and 25% of your JEE Main score to determine your overall rank. While your 12th marks are strong, your JEE Main percentile may affect your overall rank for the Computer Science and Engineering branch. We hope that we have answered your query successfully. Stay tuned to College Dekho for the latest updates related to education, counselling, admission and more. …
