JoSAA Counselling Process 2025
The JoSAA counselling process begins with the online registration on the official website. After the registration is done, the qualified candidates for JEE Advanced and Mains have to do the choice filling and lock the colleges where they want admission to pursue engineering. - Once the choice filling and locking are done, a mock allocation will be done. Candidates will be able to check the potential colleges and courses they are eligible for and have a good chance of getting admission.

After the mock seat allotment, the actual seat allotment rounds begin, where candidates are allowed to:
- Freeze: If a candidate is satisfied with the college allotted to him/her, then he/she can freeze their seat in the counselling round
- Slide: If a candidate is satisfied with the college but not satisfied with the branch allocated, then he/she can choose the slide option
- Float: If a candidate wants to get into another college after being allocated to a college, then he/she can choose the float option
- Seat Acceptance and Fee Payment: Once a candidate is allotted a college, he/she will have to pay the Seat Acceptance Fee.
- Reporting to the Centre: After the allotment of the seat and payment for the seat is done, candidates have to download the allotment letter and report to the allotted centre with the required documents to get the admission

Choice Filling:
Candidates have to select the college from the NIT+ system where they want to get admitted to pursue engineering. The choice filling comprises three options that are explained below:
- Choice Filling: Candidates have to select the list of colleges to pursue engineering
- Locking the Choices: Lock the choices that is selected during the choice filling
- Move Down Choices: Candidates can move down the choices which were previously selected during the JoSAA counselling process
- Seat Allotment: The seat allotment process begins after the choice filling, where candidates are allocated to colleges from the list of colleges that they have selected during the choice filling process
- Seat Acceptance and Partial Admission Fee: Once the college is allotted, candidates have to pay the Seat Acceptance Fee and Partial Admission Fee to download the allotment letter
- Surrender: If the candidate wants to give up the allocated seat want to go for the second round of counselling, they can choose the surrender option
- Withdraw: If a candidate does not want to continue with the counselling process and give up their allocated seat, then they can choose to withdraw. However, after selecting the withdrawal option, they will not be considered for the second round of counselling.
- Reporting: After paying the seat allotment and partial admission fee, candidates have to download the allotment letter and report to the allotted centre for document verification
- Reporting to the College: After completing the document verification, candidates have to report to the college to complete the remaining admission process.
