GATE EEE Exam Pattern & Marking Scheme

In order to score well in the GATE exam, it is advisable for the candidates to know about the complete exam pattern and marking scheme for the test. This will help the students formulate what types of questions will be asked in the exam and how will the marks be distributed.

General Aptitude Section

The General Aptitude section will be compulsory for all the candidates. There will be a total of 10 questions in GA sections. The first 5 questions will consist of 1 mark each and the remaining 5 questions will carry 2 marks each.

Marking Scheme

The MCQ will be of 1 and 2 marks. For 1 mark questions, 1/3rd marks will be deducted and for 2 marks questions, 2/3rd marks will be deducted for incorrect answers. There will be no negative marking for numerical based questions.

Will there be any negative marking in GATE Electrical Engineering 2024?

Yes. There will be negative markings on the GATE Electrical Engineering 2024 paper. For MCQs of 1 and 2 marks, 1/3 and 2/3 marks will be deducted respectively for wrong answers. However, for wrong NAT answers, no negative mark will be awarded to candidates.

Dear Student,

It is not mandatory to pay the tuition fee for the college allotted in Phase 1 to be eligible for Phase 2 of TS PGECET 2025 counselling. If you wish to upgrade your seat you can participate in Phase 2 web options even if you do not pay the fees or report to the college allotted in the first phase. However, if you have already paid the fee for the Phase 1 college and then get a new seat in the second phase of counselling, the fees paid earlier be transferred to the new college. If fee reimbursement is an important criterion for admission, then participating in TS PGECET Phase-II counselling based on your rank of 19 is a feasible and appropriate course of action. To participate in the second phase of TS PGECET 2025 counselling, please ensure you have all your original certificates and documents ready for verification. You must complete the registration and fee payment within the stipulated period to be eligible for seat allotment.
