AP PGCET Counselling 2024

AP PGCET 2024 Counselling will commence soon after the declaration of AP PGCET 2024 results. The AP PGCET 2024 counselling will be held at 17 universities. Candidates who qualify and are eligible will be able to register and participate in APPGCET 2024 counselling for admissions into the first year of various P.G. Courses (M.A., M.Com., MCJ, M.J.M.C., M.Lib.I.Sc., M.Ed., M.P.Ed., M.Sc., M.Tech., etc.). These are provided by Andhra Pradesh State-sponsored Universities and its Constituent/ Affiliated [Government and Private (Aided/Unaided) Colleges] including Minority Educational Institutions in the state as per the preliminary schedule below, and verification will be done online only.

AP PGCET 2024 Rank List

The convener of the AP PGCET will observe the following rules while preparing the Rank List for AP PGCET.

  • The rank list will be prepared based on the marks the candidates secured in the AP PGCET 2024 examination.

  • Aspirants from the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes categories who do not meet the qualifying marks will be assigned ranks in the order of merit based on their performance in the AP PGCET.

  • In case two students have obtained the same score, at the time of AP PGCET 2024 counselling the preference will be given to the older student considering the age.  

  • All the students who got a rank in AP PGCET will be provided with a Rank Card by the Convener of AP PGCET.

  • The Rank Card has the details of how many marks are secured by the student and the rank assigned in the statewide merit and Local area-wise merit.

The convener of the APPGCET also prepares the following Rank list

  1. State-wide Common Merit List: This Rank list consists of all the candidates who get ranked after qualifying in the entrance exam of AP PGCET irrespective of reservation quota.
  2. Region-wise Common Merit List: The region-wise common merit list is prepared as per the locality of the candidates. This list also does not include the reservation category.
  3. Community-wise Common Merit List: The community Rank list consists of different rank lists based on the community. There will be different rank lists for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Backward classes Communities.
  4. Rank List for other categories of Reservation:  This list of other categories of Reservation comprises of merit list of physically handicapped, NCC, Games and Sports and Children of Ex-Servicemen and Women.  The rank list is prepared both for statewide and Local Area –wise. 

AP PGCET Admission 2024 Eligibility Criteria

Following pointers are the AP PGCET 2024 eligibility criteria which all candidates must fulfil before applying for the AP PGCET 2024 exam.

  • The nationality of the candidate should be Indian.

  • The student must have secured rank in the APPGCET exam 2024.

  • The candidate should qualify and satisfy all other rules, which are laid by the APSCHE.

Andhra Pradesh PG Admission Process 2024

The details of the admission process for AP PGCET counselling 2024 is given below

  • The Convener of AP PGCET Admission will be collecting a Rank list of qualifying students who wrote the AP PGCET Exam and prepares the schedule, venue, timings and other very important information related to APPGCET 2024 counselling.

  • The Convener of AP PGCET 2024 will release the notification for the counselling at least 8 to 10 days prior to the actual counselling process takes place.

  • For all the students of PG courses, there is only one mode of admission.  The only way of counselling is in online mode through the Single Window System. 

  • The aspirants will be called for the Web-Based AP PGCET 2024 counselling process 2024.

  • Candidates after attending the APPGCET 2024 counselling process, the selection process depends on the purely rank obtained by the students in the entrance exam.

  • During the process of AP PGCET 2024 counselling, the candidate can select web options as per convenience.

  •  Then the candidates will be provisionally allocated seats as per their ranks and their choice.  

  • After getting admission into an institution, the student cannot change or opt for a different institution for admission. 

  • After the AP PGCET counselling 2024 is completed, students must pay the fee and confirm admission.

  • Students who get admission and are eligible to get Jagananna Vidya Deevana are exempted

AP PGCET 2024 Web Counselling Registration Fee

The category-wise APPGCET 2024 counselling registration fee along with some important instructions regarding the same have been discussed in this section -

  • Payment should be made online through credit/debit card/(or) net banking via the "Pay Processing Fee" link on the website https://sche.ap.gov.in.
  • Click on "Pay Fee Online" after entering your AP PGCET – 2024 Hall Ticket number and Date of Birth.
  • Take out a copy of the payment receipt for future use
  • The candidate should note that he or she must have paid the processing charge before uploading scanned copies of certificates, i.e., the processing fee must be paid online before the candidate uploads scanned copies of certificates for AP PGCET counselling 2024

Documents Required During AP PGCET Web Counselling Registration 2024

While registering for the AP PGCET 2024 web counselling registration, the candidates must upload the following documents in scanned format - 

  • AP PGCET 2024 hall ticket/admit card

  • AP PGCET 2024 rank card

  • Degree Marks Memos/consolidated marks memo

  • Transfer Certificate

  • Intermediate Marks Memo/ Diploma Marks memo

  • Degree Provisional Certificate

  • S.S.C or its equivalent Marks memo

  • Study Certificates from Class IX to Degree

  • Residence certificate

  • In the case of non-local candidates, a residence certificate of either of the parents in Andhra Pradesh for a period of ten years, omitting the period of employment outside of Andhra Pradesh, from a relevant authority must be submitted

  • The candidate's name must appear on the most recent valid Income Certificate or Ration Card issued by the appropriate government

  • Caste certificate

  • EWS certificate

  • Local status certificate (if applicable)

AP PGCET 2024 Seat Allotment

The allocation of seats is done in accordance with the general guidelines, which are detailed below.

  1. Admission to all seats in State-funded Universities and their Constituent and affiliated Government Colleges in the State.
  • The admission is given purely based on the rank secured by the candidate in APPGCET Examination and after participating in Web-based AP PGCET 2024 counselling process.
  • In the case of State-funded Universities or affiliated government colleges, there is no spot admission.
  • There are two categories of seats in the universities, which are funded by the state and their affiliated Government colleges.
  • They are 

a. Regular Category

b. Self-Supporting Category

  • All the state-funded Universities and their constituent and affiliated Government colleges must have seats in the self-supporting category in each of the PG courses. The fee for these self-supporting categories will be a little higher than Regular Category seats.
  • The students who take admission under the Self-Supporting Category are not eligible for any government schemes such as Jaganna Vidya Deevena and Jagananna Vasathi Deevana and so on.
  1. Admission to all seats allotted to Affiliated Private (Aided and Unaided) Colleges offering Post Graduate courses in the state:
  •  The seats in each Private College for Post Graduate programmes can be divided into two categories such as
  1. Category-A – 70 % of the sanctioned intake
  2. Category-B – 30 % of the sanctioned intake

Category-A

  • There should be 70% of intake seats for the PG courses in the affiliated Private (Aided /Unaided) colleges.
  • Andhra Pradesh Higher Education Regulatory and Monitoring Commission (APHERMC) fixes the fee for the courses from time to time.
  • These seats are filled by eligible candidates (all the aspects) and attending the web APPGCET 2024 counselling process.

Category-B

  • There will be 30% of the seats for category B.
  • These seats are filled with eligible candidates every year. The government will give the eligibility criteria as well as procedures.
  • The candidates who get admission in category B are not eligible for any government schemes.

Dear Student,

You must register only once for exercising the web options for  counselling in APPGCET. There is no fresh registration of candidates and choice submission in the 2nd round of counselling.
