Interpreting INI CET 2024 Percentile Scores

As you already know, a percentile score reflects a candidate’s performance with respect to others appearing for the examination. These scores do not refer to the marks obtained by the candidate. For instance, if the number of applicants taking the exam is 100 and the total marks allotted is 100 marks, then the following method will be applied to calculate the percentile scores:

  • Total marks secured by a candidate are calculated
  • Based on the marks secured, a list of all candidates is prepared
  • Ties, if any, are resolved
  • The below formula for calculating the percentile scores is applied

Percentile Score = 100 x (No. of candidates with scores equal to or less than others)/Total no. of candidates appearing for the examination
